A small detached duplex this time, nothing fancy, just filling out some footprints in the level 1 category. This one seems to want to fill 2x3 and 2x4.

About:
If you are familiar with Stellarton, Nova Scotia, you may have heard tell of the Red Row. Stellarton was a mining town for the better part of the 20th Century and this style of home can be found copy/paste on a few streets in the town, namely Rutherford[www.google.ca] and Hudson[www.google.ca] Streets. They were company-built houses for coal miners and their families. I thought it was appropriate for a Level 1.

The days of underground mining in this area are long done - for good reason. The coal mines in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, while lucrative in their time, were gassy death traps. Lots of coal, lots of methane and dust. The explosion[en.wikipedia.org] at Westray - which is about a mile or two from the Red Row - killed 26 miners in 1992. It was the worst mining disaster in the province since the Springhill bump[en.wikipedia.org] in 1958. Both were terrible, horrifying events for their own reasons.

The old underground shafts in Pictou County from days gone by are now mostly flooded or forgotten. Pretty sure the open pit mine there is now closed too. It's an industry, I think, many are happy to lay to rest. I lived in the area for several years, and that's the sense that I got.

The Red Row houses, however, have remained - either in family hands or as blue-collar rentals. There's a few buildings split right down the middle with different siding, which you can see if you follow the Google Maps links above. You'll find these homes in Cape Breton as well. Same thing there - homes built by the companies owned by Nova Scotia's coal barons.

Usual ask - if you see anything that needs to be fixed with this asset, please let me know.

@delseb59. Actually, yeah. That whole waterfront area in Lunenburg is pretty much the style I'm going for here. I'll take a look around and see if there's one or two I can do. And I have to agree with your there, Liverpool is a close second.
