Easy fix for the stuttering on the turns. (Updated 11/14/2017)
By Alexandre Reis
When I started to play Project Cars 2 stuttering was something that upset me a lot. On some turns the screen had some kind of “micro-freeze”. It seemed my FPS had dropped to something below 30 fps, but actually there was no fps drop. I managed to solve this issue and I’ve made this simple guide to try to help others.

Updates
11/14/2017: added sections "If it doesn't work" and "Updates". Also "Render Frames Ahead" config was changed to 1.

11/02/2017: added section "Change Render Frames Ahead in game config".
The Fix
Basically, to fix this you must:

1) Turn off Vsync in game config;
2) Change "Render Frames Ahead" in game config to 1;
3) Limit your FPS to 65.

Turn Vsync off
Turn Vsync off is easy. Just open your game, go to “options”, go to “Performance” and mark “no” for Vsyc, as you can see below:

Change "Render Frames Ahead" in game config
To get rid of stuttering you must change "Render Frames Ahead" in game to 1. The path to reach this parameter is the same as the "Vsync" on the section above.

Limit in Game FPS to 65
To limit your FPS to 65 just open Steam, go to “Library”, go to “Games”, click with Right Mouse button on “Project Cars 2”, go to “Properties”, go to “General”, go to “Set Launch Options”, write -fpscap 69 in the box, hit “OK” and “Close” the Properties.

Observations
1) Why I did not type -fpscap 65?
I don’t know why with -fpscap 65 my fps is limited to 61 in the game. If I want 65 fps in game, I must use -fpscap 69. But if -fpscap 65 works for you, use that.

2) The number 65 is what works for me. But this number may vary. Some players have reported the number that worked for them was 62, others 62.8 and others 63. So, it may be a good idea try these and other numbers between 59 and 70 fps. If you find a good FPS number equal or different, please comment below to help others.

3) Remember you must restart your game in order to make any change take effect.

4) It seems this fix also solves the stuttering issue in Project Cars 1.
If it doesn't work
Sometimes "Nvidia Control Panel" config may block the changes made on the game. To asure this is not happening, right click with your mouse on your desktop and click in "Nvidia Control Panel".

Now just set the parameters as seen below:

If you want to set these changes just for the game Project Cars 2, you must create a specific "Program Setting" for this game. This can be done on "Nvidia Control Panel" too.
How to Monitor your FPS in Game
As we are talking about FPS, it is important that you monitor your FPS in game. To do so you must enable your FPS counter. There are a lot of ways to do so. I'll show you the most simple one:

Open your Steam, go to Steam (top left corner) and click on "Settings":

Now go to "In Game", and choose where in your screen you want your FPS counter in game. As you can see I choose top-right corner:

Finally
After I solved the problem I found a very good discussion about this issue on “Project Cars 2” Official Forum. I link it here to help those ones who did not managed to solve the problem with this guide:

@Tazu, it seems you are facing RAM issue (memory Leak). You may install MSI Afterburner to monitor your RAM memory. And about what @{TTV/1MantisPhoenix/∞ told you, he is suggesting you to use the option "application controlled" on some of your Nvidia Control Panel settings. In this guide (section "If it doesn't work) you can see how to get there.

NVidia control panel actually works best when you say application controlled. I stopped all pubg crashes with my gpu by making as many things possible app controlled on the 3d profile. Try that.

Hello. I have a similar situation but once every 30 minutes the game freezes on the monitor but the sound remains and I can hear my car continuing to drive. I did everything that was written but it didn't help. What can you recommend for me ?
