These solutions are not really make the game 16:9/widescreen/HD whatever you called it. It only zooms the picture so picture fits the screen without stretching to monitor. Naturally, this costs some FOV (field of view). Play the Novalogic games with max original resolution which is suitable to your monitor. Considering most monitors are 1920x1080, 1280x1024 is the best resolution. If you want to see it yourself, just take screenshots of exactly the same frame of the game with different resolutions, i.e. the beginning of a mission without touching to any controls (keyboard or mouse).
