making doom 3's FOV look good :D

so here's a guide on how to get your doom 3 FOV from looking like crap to looking good! (decent anyway)

AND THIS SHOULD WORK IN ALL THE MODS IN YOUR GAME !

ok so firstly look at the crappy/normal doom fov, its HORRIBLE AHHH


honestly its meh but after a while it may start to annoy you (it did with me)


...now take a look at this



the trick is simple, put this piece of code into the launch options of DOOM 3 via right clicking the exe, hitting properties then click set launch options



THE FOV FIX >>>> +set g_fov 120

aaaand thats it, your fov will look just like mine if anyone wants help ADD ME anyways enjoy the fix lads and lassies

120 is for baddies. 100 is for pros. 90 is for blind.

How tf do you play with a 120 FOV? Everything is warped and screwy. 90 is perfectly fine.

with all due Cordial Respect, hyperactive shooters are not zoomer shooters, they are boomershooters. you have examples of Doom, Quake 1 and Quake 3 Arena (Live)

Nah... DOOM 3 isn't *supposed* to be some hyperactive zoomer-shooter where you're running around the map at 150 MPH with the FOV set to 120°. The smaller FOV makes perfect sense given the game's focus on horror, and the pace of its gameplay (slow to modern standards).

fov 85-101 best range, gunxyz commands need to be used, can alleviate fugliness, will post some values later

Everything looks a bit distorted with the new FOV, and it kind of throws a wrench into the somewhat creepy atmosphere. Thanks for the guide anyway, I suppose.
