One single Uranium 235 (Kovarex botless)
Por YukoValis
Kovarex turns 40 Uranium into 41. Which is good, but how do you seperate that 1 and use it for something else?

I was tired of trying to find guides on pulling 1 Uranium from the 41. So I devised a very simple, cheap, botless way to get that 1 bit you need.

TL:DR I have a code at the bottom for a blueprint.

Pulling the single 235
Blueprint code down below.
Rare 235
Common 238

Step 1: Place down your Centrifuge. It is going to need the 40 (235) that you can put in manually, and a steady stream of (238)

Step 2: Put a Stack filter inserter (white) down at the bottom left, leading into a chest Make sure it ONLY grabs the Uranium 235

Step 3: Place a Fast inserter above and below the chest. You don't need to configure the top one at all. The bottom needs to be reduced to 1 stack. We don't want it pulling more that 1 from the 41.

Step 4: Place a arithmetic combinator somewhere and wire up the chest to the bottom fast inserter. Change its conditions to Uranium 235 > 30. This means if the chest ever has more then 30 it will start pulling.

Step 5: Since 40 is going to the top chest, make sure you have something to put it back in the machine. Likewise you should have another filter on top pulling the 238 out.

That is it. Since it will go past 30 for a split second, the bottom left inserter will grab a single piece. The 40 will go back up into the machine to start the process again.

Here is the bare parts you need. You also need 2 wires for the box and lower inserter.

IMPORTANT EDIT: Turns out when I leveled up I sorta broke this. You might need to mess with the "Active if 30" that the lower inserter has programed, depending on your level of stack insertion.

Also turns out you don't need that combinator. Just delete it, it all works fine without.

Back in 2017 you didn't really have much choice.

dude, just place the output before the input (on the belt) so once it fills with '235 the excess wont get picked up by the grabber since it doesn't have where to put it, simple

yeah this guide is old. lol 2017. It didn't have a bunch of the fancy stuff it does now. This still works though as I've used it last time I played half a year ago. You just need the wire though.

There is a cool trick you can do: You can wire the bottom inserter to only work, if there is excactly 1 U-235 in the chest. Now set the stacksize of the output inserter and the inserter to the topchest to some divisor of 40, e.g. 2, 4, 5.. So the first 40 U-235 will go back to the top and into the machine, since there is always more than 1 U-235 in the chest. As soon as the last, the 41st U-235 is put into the chest, the bottom inserter will activate and take it out. This is pretty easy to build and scale and only needs one wire and no combinators or additional logic

@Raaageeee
Because it is more of a "feel" than actual math. You are trying to get the inserter to pull a single time. Not to mention if you decide to change the amount inserters pull at one time (save for the one pulling the single of course)

Why not update it instead of "do the math yourself" statement? :Owl:

So i was playing this again. it still works pretty well. but you need to do the math yourself a bit. The basic concept is the chest taking the 41 (235) will reach a top amount for a second, and never reach it again. Like it might hit 20 once, and never reach it again until it is empty. You want the second arm to only grab 1 when it reaches the most it will ever have. The 1 gets pulled and the rest cycle back.

The bad old days :)

@m4rek I believe it does. If I remember splitters had to be tricked into putting items on the correct row, and backed up if that row was full. It didn't have any options in it.

Good point; does this predate the introduction of splitter priority?
