Risk-Free Way to Kill Spawned Mimics

This guide will show you how to kill player-spawned biome mimics, with no skill required. You could even do this with no armor or accessories, as you will remain untouched. Hope you enjoy!

Materials

For this method you will need:

• A long-mid range weapon with lots of ammo (if needed).
  
• 15 souls of night/light (for the keys).
  
• A few chests (depending on how many mimics you plan on killing).
  
• Blocks
  
• Rope (optional).

Set-Up

1. Rope/block up about 40-50 blocks above the ground (don't go too high).
   
   
   
   
2. Make a platform in the sky out of Blocks, not platforms, that is atleast 15 blocks long. The size of the platform does not make a huge difference. Make a hole roughly in the center of the platform. The hole doesn't have to be perfectly centered. Make sure the hole is only 1 Block Wide
   
   
   
   
3. If you don't have wings or other means of Quickly flying up to the platform, make another rope on the side of the platform so you can quickly get up to it and away from the mimic in time.
   
   
   
   
4. Place a few chests below the platform or next to your rope (if you have one) to get away as fast as possible.
   
   

Spawning and Attacking

1. Once you have everything set up, go ahead and put your key inside the chest. As soon as you close the chest, the mimic will spawn. Close it and fly up/climb the rope up to your platform. As soon as you get on make your way to the hole. Note that this is technically the most dangerous part of this method, as it is the only time you are vulnerable, so try to get up there quick!
   
   
   
   
2. Once you are at the hole, you will notice the mimic jumps up, falls down, jumps up, falls down, repeat. While it does so it will keep hitting the platform and you will stay untouched. Make sure you do not widen the hole any more than 1 Block Wide, as that is where the mimic could reach you.
   
   
   
   
3. It is time to attack. Simply pull out your weapon and begin killing it.
   
   

• If you are using a yo-yo, you will want to add a block next the the hole as shown so you can fit your yo-yo out.
  
  
  
  
• Notice that the mimic attacks in an upside down "V" shape as shown. If you are using a weapon that fires in a straight line you may want to move slighly to the left/right when attacking.
  
  

• This is a quick video to show how the spawning and killing of the mimic should look like. Note if you are too quick going up the ropes the mimic can jump on the platform. (In the video the ropes goes up to 50 in height)

This method can be used as soon as you get into hard mode. The cosmic car key is obtain towards the end of the game.
