Mouse Fix

Mouse fix for GTA Vice City, if you are having issues with mouse please refer to this guide.

Intro

So if you are one of the gamers who are having issues with your mouse not working on GTA Vice City in Windows 7 or 8, look no further. What you need is a file called DINPUT8.DLL. I have provided link to it below. Please forgive me for the ad on it.

Windows 32-Bit

C:\ Drive (or local drive) > Program Files > Steam > Steamapps > Common > Grand Theft Auto Vice City

Now paste the DINPUT8.DLL file in there and start the game, this should work.

Windows 64-Bit

I got it to work, but the sensitivity is too high. When I try to lower it in the game menu it only changes the x movements and not the y movements. Googling only brings up this dll and the other fixes don't work for me.

In case this method doesn't work for you, installing SilentPatch can fix it, and did for me.

it doens't work, I try also using the silent patch with out without this dll, ddraw dll, compatibility 98/me, any of those work... I can't only look around out of the vehicle

I've added the dll file and i've been running the compatibility mode as windows 98/ME and the mouse did work for a while and now it stopped again. I'm using win 10 build 20h2. I've had tons and tons of issues with GTA VC.

i havent rlly been able to play, cuz when i try to turn inverted mouse off, it turns off, but it doesnt change, and im stuck with inverted mouse on, so its hard as crap to play. Please help
