Introduction
Welcome to Poseidon’s SCP Breach Server Guide. This guide will cover the basics of the game mode, so you can hop straight in and play. Before you start reading, please keep these things in mind:

1. You should check out the MOTD, so your clear on all the server’s rules. You can find it here: poseidonservers.net/forums/showthread.php?tid=17500
2. Be aware that this guide will not cover everything. The main reason for this is so people still have things to find and explore while playing.
3. While this guide can be used for any up-to-date Breach server, its features some things which can only be found on Poseidon's Breach Server. Feel free to check us out at the forums (poseidonservers.net/forums/index.php) or the server (IP: 139.99.144.110:27115).

With all that out of the way, it’s time to begin.
A Quick Summary of Breach
If you want to start playing right away, then this summary will give you everything you need. Also remember to read the MOTD.

Breach revolves around the SCP Foundation's Site 19, and those inside. One day the SCPs kept in the facility breach their containment. This is where the game mode starts.

There are five classes (SCP, Class D, MTF, Researchers and CI) with different roles in each class. Your goals will depend on your class and your own preferences. Each class can/cannot kill certain classes. These are listed below.

Note which classes can/cannot team/kill each other works both ways (e.g. MTF can’t kill researchers and vice versa). Also, no class can kill another member of their class.

MTF Must Kill: CI, Class D’s and SCPs
Cannot Kill/Must Team With: Researchers

Researchers Must Kill: CI
Can Team With: SCPs and Class Ds
Cannot Kill/Must Team with: MTF

CI Must Kill: MTF and Researchers
Can Team With: SCPs
Cannot Kill/Must Team with: Class Ds

SCPs Must Kill: MTF
Can Team With: Class D’s, Researchers, CI
Cannot Kill/Must Team with: SCPs

Class Ds Must Kill: MTF
Can Team With: Researchers and SCPs
Cannot Kill/Must Team with: CI

What is Breach?
Breach is a Garry’s Mod game mode based off the game SCP – Containment Breach, which was released in 2012.

The story of the game mode is simple. You’re inside a facility (Site 19) owned by the SCP Foundation, when suddenly multiple SCP’s break out of containment. Your goal from that moment forward will be decided by your class, yourself and anyone you choose to team with.
How do Rounds Work?
A round of Breach is very similar to a round of TTT. Everyone spawns in at the start in a random role, and the round will end when time is up or certain conditions are met (e.g. SCP’s kill all the humans).
Unlike TTT, a round of breach can go for up to 13 minutes. You can also be respawned throughout the round, as either NTF or CI.

There are also three different types of rounds, excluding events. These are Containment, MultiBreach and Infected.

Containment:

Containment is the round you’ll be playing the most. It follows the general story of Breach. Everyone spawns in and play from there.

MultiBreach:

This round type is the same as Containment except all the SCP’s will be the same one, e.g. instead of there being one 049, 173 and 106 there will be three 682s. The SCP chosen for this round is random.

Infected:

This round has MTF and Class Ds working together to escape, hide from or stop SCP 008 from spreading. The only SCPs in this round are those infected with 008. There are also no researchers or CI. This is also the only round were MTF and Class Ds can team and it would be considered RDM if they killed each other.

You'll know when a round has ended when you see this screen.

Spawning into Breach
When you spawn into Breach, your screen will look like this:

Top Centre: This is where you’ll find out what class/role you are for the round. It also gives you general information about your role and for SCPs, what your attacks are and the controls for them.

Bottom Centre: Here you will find two things, the round type and your attack cooldown timer. Only SCPs will have the timer, and its different depending on the SCP.

Bottom Left: This is your average HUD. It has your blink, health and stamina bars your role and ammunition counter.
Finding your way around?
As I said at the start, I want people to still discover new things after reading this guide. Because of this I won’t be providing a map or instructions on how to get around, instead I will be providing some tips.

1. These rooms are the exits/entrances for both the Light and Heavy Containment Zones. You’ll likely need to pass through at least one to escape, so keep that in mind.

2. Heading down an elevator may get you extra items, but won’t help you escape
3. Get the highest-level key card you can, it will make escaping easier.
Classes – The Humans
There are four types of human classes. These are MTF, Researchers, Class D and CI.

MTF

This class runs the facility and takes care of its security. Of course, when the SCPs breach containment, it’s their job to clean up the mess. During a round the goals of the MTF are:

1. Escort all researchers out of the facility.
2. Kill all SCPs, CI and Class Ds.

The MTF command structure is as follows:
- Security Officer
- Security Chief
- MTF Guard
- MTF Medic
- MTF Lieutenant
- MTF NTF
- MTF SCU
- MTF Commander
- Site Director
- 05 Council Member

Like all other classes, MTF have restrictions on who they can/cannot kill. These are listed below and in the MOTD.

MTF MUST KILL:
- Class D
- CI
- SCPs

MTF CANNOT KILL/MUST TEAM WITH
- Researchers
- Other MTF

Researchers

These are the people who research and experiment on SCPs, often using Class Ds in the process. Because of their value to the Foundation their rescue becomes top priority when the breach occurs.

The roles for Researchers are:
- Researcher
- Level 3 Researcher
- Medic

When it comes to other classes:

Researchers MUST KILL:
- CI

Researchers CAN KILL OR TEAM WTH:
- SCPS
- Class Ds

Researchers CANNOT KILL/MUST TEAM WITH
- MTF
- Other Researchers

CI

There are many organisations out to take down the Foundation. The Chaos Insurgency is one such group, and unfortunately, they have quite a presence inside the facility. They have managed to infiltrate both Class D and MTF ranks and are a major threat to getting the facility back on track. They aim to rescue the Class Ds for their own purposes.

While there are only three CI roles, I am going to go into detail about what each of them do:

1. CI Soldier – Essentially NTF but instead of helping researchers and MTF, they are out to kill them.
2. CI Spy – The CI Spy has infiltrated MTF and spawns with them when the round starts. From there, they usually aim to slowly eliminated MTF and any researchers they find, while trying to help Class Ds escape.
3. CI Agent – The CI Agent is like the Spy, except they spawn with the Class Ds. Their goal is to protect the Class Ds and get them out.

When it comes to other classes:

CI MUST KILL:
- MTF
- Researchers

CI CAN KILL/TEAM WITH
- SCPs

CI CANNOT KILL/MUST TEAM WITH
- Class Ds
- Other CIs

Class D

Class Ds are sourced by the Foundation from prisons across the world, usually taken from the ranks of death row inmates. They do the Foundations dirty work, including cleaning and being test subjects in experiments. When the breach occurs, the order is given for them to be executed. Of course, to escape death, they aim to make it out of the facility.

There are only two types of Class D:
- Class D
- Class D Veteran

When it comes to other classes:

Class D MUST KILL:
- MTF

Class D CAN KILL/TEAM WITH:
- Researchers
- SCPs

Class D CANNOT KILL/MUST TEAM WITH:
- CI
- Other Class Ds

Items
Breach is full of many different items that will help you get through each round. If you’re lucky, you may spawn with some of them, though it will depend on your role. You should remember only humans can use items. The items you can find in breach are:

Camera View

A device that allows you to view cameras throughout the facility. Can be found or dropped by certain roles.

Crowbar/Stunstick

The two melee weapons for humans ingame. They’re also good at breaking glass. Crowbars only spawn throughout the facility, while stunsticks are carried by MTF.

Eye Drops

This item is best used when near SCP 173. When used, it temporarily increases the time it takes for your to blink, from five to ten seconds. They spawn randomly.

Guns

These are the best way to defend yourself in Breach. Find one or kill someone for one if you want to survive.

Keycards

Keycards are what you’ll use to open many of the doors throughout the facility. They range from Type Two to Omni (Type Six). Some classes will spawn with them, while others will need to scavenge them. Keycards up to level four can be found through the facility, while higher keycards can be created or dropped by some roles.

MedKits

There are two types of medkits, normal and ultra. Normal gives you only one use, while ultra gives you multiple. Only normal medkits can be found in the facility, with ultras only being given to medics.

Night Vision Goggles (NVG)

These are the only way to see SCP 966, and are invaluable when it escapes. Fortunately, they are usually easy to find, with most Researchers and MTF spawning with them. They can also be found randomly throughout the facility.

Sat Nav 300/Ultimate

These operate much like the Sat Nav in your car. They show you the area around you. The ultimate version also shows items and other players.

Vests

There are many types of vests in Breach, and all focus on damage protection. The vests that MTF/CI wear are meant to protect from any physical damage, whether it be caused my humans or SCPs. Fire Proof vests greatly limit the damage fire does to the wearer and Electro vests protect the user from most electric damage. Note these vests don’t work against tesla gates.

Vest can also disguise your role, making the ID system (mentioned later) an important aspect in properly identifying vest wearing individuals. Vests also make you slower and easier to spot, so keep that in mind.

Zeus Taser

These only spawns with certain classes and does what the name suggests, though it usually only has one charge. It can be upgraded to give it more charges if you know how.
Nukes
Unfortunately for everyone who likes living, the Foundation has a failsafe should they fail to reclaim the facility. This comes in the form of two nuclear warheads within the facility.

There are rules regards when and if they can be activated. These rules can be found in the MOTD, which I have also put below.

Nuking Rules
The Site Director or O5 Council Member may call in a nuke if the following criteria are met:
-They are still alive and not in the pocket dimension.
-There are no medics/researchers (Not including MTF medic) still alive.
- Six minutes have passed.
-There are less than 12 players alive.
-The Omega and Alpha warheads are enabled.
The ID System
When you see someone with a vest on, its impossible to guess what role they are. This often leads to RDM, when two MTF or Class D kill each other mistakenly. The ID system was introduced to prevent this.

The system is simple to follow. Everyone spawns with an ID, which they can equip/unequip at any time. If you see someone in a vest, you MUST ask for their ID before engaging them. If they run or fail to provide it, you can then kill them.

Below are the sections about IDs from the MOTD. Keep what they mention in mind.

- If a player has a vest on, you must ask for their ID before killing them with 2 seconds in between each call. If they run away from you then you may shoot them.
- If you are a vested researcher traveling among unvested class Ds without showing your ID to MTF you may be shot without issue (Defending yourself is permitted, if this is abused you will be punished HARSHLY). If you request for an MTF guard to check your ID without putting your gun away he can still shoot you. If you take your ID out beforehand or whilst saying it/revealing yourself to them they cannot shoot you. (Abusing this and minging is still punishable).
The Levelling System

While there may be many roles available to play in Breach, you won't have access to them all right away. This is due to the Levelling System on the server. Essentially, you earn exp and level up as you play. You can see your level in the TAB menu and see what classes you’ve unlocked in the F2 menu.

Note: SCPs and Class D are not locked behind levels, so you can play them whenever.
Events

If you’re lucky and all the starts align, or Heinz is on, you may be able to participate in an event. Events are special rounds that are organised by admins, which usually involve extreme levels of crazy and death.

Whether an event will take place is decided by a poll, which everyone on the server can vote on. If the event is approved, it will likely happen within the next two rounds.
Types of events include:
- SCP Heinz
- Santigo
- Everyone who dies becomes an SCP
