This guide is about herb growth, liquid generation and potions.

Herbs

Daybloom - found growing in purity - blooms at day
Moonglow - found growing in jungle - blooms at night
FireBlossom - found growing in hell - blooms at sunset (3:45pm to 7:30pm)
Waterleaf - found growing in desert - blooms during rain
Blinkroot - found growing underground - blooms at random
Shiverthorn - found growing in the snow - blooms after enough time
Deathweed - found growing in the corruption/crimson - blooms during a full or blood moon
Crimrose (unofficial) - if added would bloom in blood and maybe in new moon instead of full?

Herb Planter Boxes

Daybloom Planter Box - sold by dryad after defeating: King Slime

Moonglow Planter Box - sold by dryad after defeating: Queen Bee

FireBlossom Planter Box - sold by dryad after defeating: Wall of Flesh

Waterleaf Planter Box - sold by dryad after defeating: Skeletron

Blinkroot Planter Box - sold by dryad after defeating: Eye of Cthulhu

Shiverthorn Planter Box - sold by dryad after defeating: Skeletron

Deathweed Planter Boxs - sold by dryad after defeating: Eater of worlds/Brain of Cthulhu

Crimrose (unofficial) Planter Box - if added would be sold by dryad after defeating: Brain of Cthulhu

Herb Farm

32 of each of the 7 herbs* plus an area for potion making allows you to make a neat little herb farm to supply a group of 1-5 players.



While you can mine up the herbs with a pickaxe to harvest them it is greatly suggested that you use a staff of regrowth as it can increase the amount of herbs harvested and it only harvest blooming plants so you don't have to do individual targeting.

*even with crimrose there can only naturaly be 7 per world

Liquid Generator

Below is an image of a cheap liquid generator, costing 60 iron/lead bars and a 1 second timer. It costs 20 iron/lead bars per upgrade per liquid.

It allows you to get all the liquid mixes you need to make potions.

Fishing

This may come as a surprise to you but many of the high quality potions require rare fish, I'm not going to go into to much detail but you will need to have a fully fledged fisherman on your team, like this guy:

Potions

To craft potions I would suggest getting the imbuing station to make flasks and the alchemy table to reduce ingredient consumption, as well as this you should also have some basic crafting staions: workbench; furnace; anvil, and the liquid staions: water; honey; lava. you should also make a chest to store your ingredients to free up inventory space.

If you are looking for the buffs then you should also get a cooking pot and grow pumkins, pumkin pie's "well fed" buff lasts for 2 in game days.

Some things that I would like to say about the crimrose (unofficial) is that if it was added it would be used with vertebrae in the battle potion, would be used instead of deathweed in rage potion, and not able to be used in wrath potion, selling at the same price as deathweed.

@holylemonaple you get seeds initially from either finding natural herbs in their blooming phase and harvesting them, or from loot like herb bags

i need waterleaf seeds but don't have any, but i do have waterleaf (the plant)
