In the beggining

Hi,it's me WitchDoctor
Today I'm going to try and teach you how i usually make comics because some people wanted me to open up my ass and tell people how I usually do it
What you need
You need these in order to do it:
and there you go
sadly I don't have a brain
3D text mod (optional)
This is the mod I usually use for comics because it's more easier to see and use than edited in text. However if you want to use edited in text then that is fine, which is why this section is optional, but I want to go over on how to use it.
First of all is moving your text. One con of the 3D text mod is that it is hard to move sometimes because of weird hit detection, however it is not impossible sometimes.

sometimes you can spawn the text on a small prop and then try to move it it upwards to position it to face the camera or the viewer so that it is readable.I use this small block to do that sometimes.

Another feature about the 3D text mod is that you can change the size of the text, however the smallest size is 20.The text like I said earlier is still movable though, but you can move the text far away for big text or sentences (left)
or really close for small text (right)

Text color
Color in text is actually really important for 2 reasons.
  • 1. Mixing in with the background
The color text can be a pain sometimes when the text mixes in with the background, but you can always change the color so it doesn't match and here is an example:

The top one uses black text and the bottom uses blue text. And as you can see,the black one can barely be seen because it matches with the background making it hard to read, however the blue text is easier to read since it is a different color. This can be harder to do in areas that aren't black,so just try and find a color in the text so that it doesn't match in with the background.
  • 2 Telling apart
If there are multiple characters in the comic, you can use text to tell which one is speaking apart. One very important note....DON'T MAKE ALL THE TEXT THE SAME COLOR FOR ALL CHARACTERS otherwise it can be hard to tell which one is speaking.I usually make the colored text the same color as the characters appearance, like if someone is wearing green, then they have green text. Here is one example: blue shirt=blue text, red shirt=red text, see what I mean?
However, this can be a pain combined with the 1st rule I made,so try to find other ways to tell characters apart.
MS paint (or other editing programs)
For this one,you can use other programs to edit in your comics, but I usually use MS paint.
There are some things you have to make sure when editing your comic though.
  • 1 looking for white spaces
When finished, always look for small spaces that aren't filled in by the comic like this for example
  • 2 watermarks and signatures
Some people like to put a signature or watermark on their artworks to prove as something to prove or to tell people they made it,but with comics though,it's best just to put only 1 signature or watermark, otherwise it will feel like your whole comic is just a giant artwork with signatures and watermarks. So what I would do is to just put in one signature or watermark on one panel and to put it on a panel in which you think is the most important looking.
  • 3 the size
It's best to make your comic panels big enough so that it is readable and viewable. If it is too small then it will look pixelated like thisWhat I usually make them big enough to read, but not too big,it's also best to try and make all the panels the same size.
  • 4 borders
This one is also optional, but it is sometimes needed to tell panels apart.Borders (or lines) are put in between panels to tell them apart so that it doesn't look like a giant panel or that it looks like the 2 panels are combined.I usually use the line tool in MS paint
and the line can be any color, just as long as it doesn't blend in with the comic

the endednednendnednendne
So that is how I usually make comics, they usually require a bit of time and thinking sometimes to do.You can also try reading other guides if you want to get good at lighting or posing (i'm not an expert on that). So hopefully this guide helped you out if you want to make your own comic in the future!
