Intro
Follow along with our video and guide to setup and use Multiplicity.

Log into Steam
Make sure the Steam client is installed and active on the computers you would like to connect using Multiplicity.
Determine the Primary and Secondary
Before using Multiplicity, it is important to determine which computer will be the Primary machine (the one that uses its keyboard and mouse to control the Secondary machine) and Secondary machine (the one that is controlled).
Set up the Secondary PC First
Click “Install” on Multiplicity in your Steam Library. This will download the installation files to your PC. When downloading is complete, click the “Launch” button in Steam. This will start the Multiplicity Installer outside of Steam.

After installation, you'll be presented with a screen asking if you want to set your PC up as a Primary or Secondary computer. You’ll want to setup your Secondary PCs first.

Make sure to copy the passcode on your secondary PC for later use!

Set up the Primary PC Next
Run setup on the Primary PC next. When prompted, designate this as your Primary PC.

Add the Secondary PC and Finish Set up!
Now that you've activated your Primary PC, you can add your Secondary PC. Go to the Multiplicity window, click ‘Add computer,’ and select and add your Secondary PC. Remember that passcode from before? This is where you'll need it again.

Match the PCs on the grid with your own setup. If needed, drag the Secondary PC to its corresponding position on the grid. There are plenty of spaces to match whatever setup you need.

Now you can control the Secondary PC with your Primary keyboard and mouse.
If you ever need to switch which PC is the Primary and Secondary
It is easy with Multiplicity. First you must demote your Primary machine by by clicking on the slider in the top right of the config window. A prompt will pop up asking if you are sure. Clicking YES will deactivate this PC through Steam as the Primary and allow activation on another PC. Remember, you can only have 1 PC as Primary activated at any time.

Next, you will go to your Secondary machine and click the same slider, that’s it!

Hey guys! How greedy you've become! I used to connect my two computers and my Surface tablet at the same time, and now you're restricting me. So now I need to purchase another license? Too bad! I will not recommend this app anymore. BTW, Spacedesk is a better option now. Or Teamvewer.

Followed all the instructions and nothing is happening... Could really use a trouble-shooting link somewhere in this tutorial.
