How to fix and clean broken save files!

A simple guide to recover and clean your broken saves!

If you have uninstalled more than 10+ mods then you are in the right place! this guide will help you on how to clean useless papyrus scripts and help you make your skyrim experience smoother.

Downloading the proper tools!

First of all we're gonna need to download 2 programs to do this!

• Skyrim save cleaner![www.nexusmods.com]


• Skyrim script cleaner![www.nexusmods.com]

Once you are on the website click the top right button called "Download (Manual)"



Download them Both!

Part l

IF you still have access to your save file go ahead and load your save in game.

After you're in game OPEN your console and type the following :

"save fixerino 1"



Now wait untill a new document pops up,after that you can close skyrim.

2nd step

After you've done all that,go ahead and open up skyrim save cleaner.exe (NOT Save tool)
Press the big middle button and go to your Documents/My games/Skyrim/Saves/ and select the file with the name "fixerino" After that select it again. Now you're gonna see a new window pop up identical to the picture below,let it scan.



After some time (Depends on your game progress/mods uninstalled) you are gonna see this screen



Press Enter



Press enter again,after 5-10seconds the window will close! meaning you've succesfully cleaned the useless ids!

Part ll

Now we're gonna open the Skyrim script cleaner (SaveTool.exe). Once you've opened it press the button top left called "Open"



Select your save file called "fixerino" just like before,then press the button at the middle named "FixScriptInstances" it will remove all orphan script instances.



After the process is over,click the button called "Delete all #"



Now save your file



And now you're finally done! time to load up skyrim see check the results!

@Ryotaink Nothing,it will just clean useless scripts/objects from mods you UNINSTALLED. Everything you got right now will be at the same plae as before.

after finishing cleaning the save what will be to my mods ?

Would this fix broken missions? I have 2 in particular that I can't get to work.. but seeing as I have been playing this game for a bagillion years, and a bagillion saves later... I am not sure where it is broken. Aethrium forge is one. I can get there, but cant activate it.... Thanks for your time in advance :)
