Old Version: WWT / Women's Peloton on the World Tour Calendar

Descripción
Today's (9/15) updates - this mod package failed due to a corrupted loading dialogue. The latest updates are being pushed in the WWT version 1.0.

Here’s your chance for some improved gameplay and an opportunity to live firsthand the fascinating intrigue of women’s cycling.

Anyone who’s played a lot of PCM will appreciate these improvements:

Please join me to revel in:
-Reduced managerial work with smaller teams
-Smaller squad sizes at each race often leads to less predictable outcomes
-Smaller competitive peloton leads to more one-on-one rivalries
-Fewer top squads allow for fast progression of teams and riders to top level races (in "pro cyclist mode”, you could be at the TdF in the first year.)
-Quicker seasons. It's possible to play a rider to retirement.

Summary
As the mod title suggests, the rider db is the current peloton while the race calendar is from the base game. Since the average women’s team size is about a third of a World Tour team, this database should be a challenge no matter which team you’re using. Good luck!

This database has been built following segment results available online; instead of having the top riders at 82-84 points in each skill, the top riders are based on segment performance relative to the default database. The rest of the riders’ skill levels cascade down from there. There are many segments crossed by both the world tour and the women’s peloton, and some of the best recorded are Mur de Huy, Champs-Elysees, and Mount Baldy – but there are countless others. Here are two tips to adjust for this approach -- 1. Reduce all new game-generated riders to 50 points in each skill by the Feb. 30th game day, 2. When playing “pro cyclist mode,” set the game difficulty on ‘extreme’, and for better gameplay, select a time triallist or a puncher specialization.

Primer
For anyone new to women’s cycling, here’s a draft team primer to get you started in the database. There’s lots to say about the other teams, but less seems to be more for now.

WM3
The greatest rider of her generation is the centerpiece of this team, which was created and designed to ensure her long-term domination of professional cycling. She began her career as the most decorated racer since the great Jeannie Longo hung up her kit and she has deservedly been nicknamed the Cannibal. But her future success is not assured after a year off the bike for rehab and a slow rebound back on the road. The other top star on the team is a young climbing talent with gigantic potential who has shown her skills in the classics and the mountains.

WM3 Team Goals – Simply win every big one-day race and take at least one grand tour victory. Win 54 races in ‘17 with one rider.

Boels
The best team in cycling has a roster of nothing but legitimate stars and superstars. The team’s leader has consistently won the biggest races since 2015, and she has been nearly unbeatable in major tours. The talent on this team is so deep that the current world champion is probably their 5th or 6th best rider. Anything but two grand tour wins and a sweep of the monuments would be a disappointment.

Boels Team Goals – Win both the Tour and the Giro with any rider, and sweep the Ardennes classics.

Canyon
As one of the best teams in the peloton, any race win is within reason. Their stars include the most powerful veteran time triallist and rouleur in the peloton, a young all-rounder who has yet to fulfill the star promise displayed in her early career, and a trio of the best puncheurs in the world. This team is stacked to win any team time trial.

Canyon Team Goals – Win the TdF green jersey, win a stage in each grand tour, make the podium in the Vuelta, win both of the Worlds.

Wiggle
One of the most storied teams is led by one of the best puncheurs in the peloton. The team’s strengths are one-day races, stage hunting, and dominating the bunch sprint. While it lacks a top tier GC contender, a few of its riders have the talent to reach the podium of a grand tour.

Wiggle Team Goals - Win the monuments – all of them. Podium at the TdF, and win the green jersey.

Orica
The Australian superteam can win on any terrain especially the steep ones. The Dutch climber who leads the team enters the season without peer in the mountains.

Orica Team Goals – Win a Giro-Tour double. Win at least one monument. Retain the #1 team ranking in the world tour and super-prestige all year.

Cylance
One of the most powerful sprinter strong-(wo)man in the world heads up this deep team. Lacking a top GC threat, this team will focus on stage hunting and the major one-day races. There are a number of top young riders on this team who have yet to realize their full potential.

Cylance Team Goals: Win the TdF green jersey, compile the most victories by any one rider.

FDJ
Home to a top sprinter who is sure to dominate the mass sprints this year and one of the best climbers who recently left a top team to seek stardom on her own. A number of young hopefuls fill out the roster.

FDJ Team Goals: Podium in the TdF. Win a grand tour green jersey. Win a grand tour white jersey.

Astana
This promising team has brought on several young stars to head up a large team of domestic riders. Having a longer roster than most top teams, they have a legitimate shot of maintaining their strength throughout the year.

Astana Team Goals: Win the Vuelta. Win a stage in every grand tour.

Sunweb
This team is stacked with the top young talent in the peloton – it is home to one of the top young sprinters and two top climbers. They are understudies to a trio of decorated veterans that are sure to make several podiums and a few wins this season.

Sunweb Team Goals: Win 6 TdF stages. Win 2 monuments.

Cervelo Bigla
This team is the home to maybe the world’s best pure sprinter. Yet as a team overall, the mountains are its strength, and it could challenge the favorites in a 21 day grand tour.

Cervelo Team Goals – win a grand tour green jersey, podium at the TdF, win the Vuelta GC and white jersey.

Lares
A team with wealth of young talent that could come to dominate on any terrain. Their top young star has potential at GC and could be a threat in the steepest monuments.

Lares Team Goals – win the white jersey at TdF, win one monument.

Team VeloCONCEPT
This squad of talented veterans have a supporting cast of young hopefuls.

VeloCONCEPT Team Goals -- Win 2 world tour stage races, win 3 TdF stages and a stage at the Giro and the Vuelta.

This is in development. In the next few weeks, I'll round out the rider db and try to improve gameplay.

Noordj is right! I removed most of all the beards today, but to get that update, you would have to start a new game.

But in any new game year (2018, 2019, ... etc), if you are interested in clearing out riders with facial hair, you must update the face id codes in your 'weekly saves' database. The game leaves new rider records populated at "0" and assigns facial features randomly, I suspect. You should update the "0" to any code between 1 and 8. Also, 10 is fine. The best facial feature codes are "5" and "6" imho.

Why you made this? they still look like man and even has beards, the best woman cyclist names are missing
Marianne Vos, Annemiek van Vleuten Creating a womans game is not about only changing names in a DB.

Interested to see how this mod will work out in the end but a good idea without a doubt. I think we desparately need a women's peloton in the base game as well in PCM. That would be an awesome addition for the future.
