NOTE: results may vary from hardware to hardware, it is not guaranteed to work for everyone.

Tested resolution: 2560x1440
PC specification
  • i7 6700
  • GTX 980Ti in 2-way SLI. (Driver version 384.76 WHQL)
  • 32GB DDR4 3000MHz RAM
  • Windows 10 Pro, version 1703

Let's get started.

1. After installing Stalingrad, start the game and go to Options > Settings > Video and set the resolution to '640x480x32' apply & exit the game.

2. Go to game directory: by default it is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stalingrad, you can also do it from your game library by right clicking on 'Stalingrad > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files...'.

3. From the game directory backup the file called 'config.cfg'.

4. Open the file 'config.cfg' with a text editor, I recommend using 'Notepad++', you can also open it with default Windows Notepad.

5. In the file, hit 'ctrl+f' and search for 640x480.

6. Now change the value as the resolution you want to play, i.e., 1920x1080, 2560x1440, etc.

Note: do not change the other value 'Type="8"><Var>1024x768x32', as it will likely make the game crash.

7. Save & exit.

8. Right click on 'config.cfg' > Properties > set the file to 'Read-only'.

9. Launch the game & play.

Note: game menu will appear low resolution, but once the map is loaded the game should be running on high resolution or the resolution you've set in the 'config.cfg' file.

Here's an example of the game running at a glorious 2560x1440 resolution.

Good luck.

@everyone, to make it 1920x1080 or any other resolution, look at 6th section of the guide.

You just have to enter whatever resolution you are running, so instead of 2560x1440 just enter 1920x1080 or whatever your resolution is.
