General Information
The Bee Queen is a boss monster in Don't Starve Together. She has 22500 HP, deals 60 damage and spawns Grumble Bees to assist her in fight. Furthermore she generates a trail of honey that slows down any players walking on it. That all makes the Bee Queen a tough opponent that cannot be killed easily even by a group of players.

However, there is a more or less known strategy to defeat her fast and successfully. This strategy can only be used with Wickerbottom since it involves her book 'On Tentacles' which spawns a couple of tentacles that attack any nearby mob or player.

In the following I will explain step by step how to get from a fresh day 1 spawn to a successfully defeated Bee Queen.
I. Exploring the Map and Gathering Resources
The first phase consists mostly of exploring the map and finding all the important biomes which are: the swamp, the grass biome with the Gigantic Bee Hive, the savanna / Dragonfly desert. The best way to explore is to walk along the edge of the map to get an overview where all the biomes are located. In the meantime you should start gathering all the required resources.

The Gigantic Beehive as seen on the map.

The beginning of the swamp biome.

This strategy uses the following equipment and resources:

Equipment:
  • Alchemy Engine
  • Fire Pit
  • 5x On Tentacles
  • 64x Hay Wall
  • Hammer
  • Bush Hat
  • 2x Log Suit

Resources:
  • 32 Logs
  • 27 Rocks
  • 35 Twigs
  • 97 Cut Grass
  • 4 Gold Nuggets
  • 32 Cut Reeds (note that Wickerbottom already has 2 papyrus as starting item)
  • 1 Berry Bush
  • 5 Tentacle Spots

(Note: This list does not contain the resources for tools, lighting, weapons and armor.)

Picking up cut reeds in the swamp.

Tumbleweeds are a great source of cut grass and twigs.

The only items in this list that will inevitably cause problems are the tentacle spots. They have a 20% chance to be dropped by a tentacle which makes them pretty rare.

At this point you have to make a decision on how fast the Bee Queen should find her death. If the answer is fast then there is no way around going to the swamp and fighting tentacles for their drops. If fighting tentacles is not an option then there are other ways to get the spots. Tentacles don't regenerate health, so all the tentacles near merm houses and spider dens will die sooner or later and the drops can be picked up. Tentacle spots can also be obtained as a gift from befriended catcoons.

Nevertheless fighting tentacles is not impossible. It just requires concentration and a bit of practice.
The easiest way to fight a tentacle is to hit it once while it comes out of the ground, then quickly retreat and wait until it disappears again. This is done by walking close to a tentacle that is in the ground and holding the attack key, then after it got hit use the WASD keys to move out of range. Make sure though that you don't run into another tentacle. It is possible to find the tentacle locations by crafting a campfire and hovering over the area. Campfires cannot be build on a tentacle.

Tentacle about to come out.

However the fastest way to kill a tentacle is kiting it. Hit the tentacle once, go back, let it swing twice, then attack again. While fighting tentacles it is vitally important to wear armor because tentacles can stunlock a player and deal enough damage to kill most unarmored characters with some hits.

Fighting a tentacle.

Due to their low drop rate it could take several days to get the five tentacle spots. (But after that the hardest part is done.)

The required amount of cut reeds.
II. Preparation and the Great Fight
You have managed to get all the items on the list? Congratulations! Now it's time for the fun part. Head to the Gigantic Bee Hive and make everything ready for the great fight.

Place down a fire pit and an alchemy engine and craft 5 'On Tentacles'.

Let's learn about our subterranean friends!

Then craft 64 Hay Walls and place them in an 8x8 area near the Gigantic Bee Hive.

Build the walls...

...and destroy them with force-attack (ctrl+attack key)

until it looks like this.

Now grab your books, go to the middle of the wall area and unleash hell.

After you read all the books your sanity will be at zero, so make sure you either have sanity restoring food (cactus, green caps, taffy) or weapon and armor to fight shadow creatures.

Some extra nightmare fuel won't hurt.

Finally clear the surrounding area from trees and structures that might get into your way while fighting...

...and wait for the next morning.

The great day has come. Grab a hammer and go for the Gigantic Bee Hive.

After the Bee Queen has spawned run away and hide from your responsibilities.

Now lean back and enjoy the show.

III. Valuable Loot
Now the Bee Queen should look a bit like this:

I can already hear you asking: how am I supposed to get that fancy stuff without getting killed?

The answer is: patience.

DO NOT attempt to pick up all the stuff at once or you will go the same way as the Bee Queen. Instead take some time, heal yourself up, get more armor (if necessary) and recover from that unbelievably intense fight (hehe).

Now check out where all the items are and pick them up ONE BY ONE. Do this by standing a bit away and left-clicking on the specific item to pick it up. Immediately after you picked the item up run further in that direction. If you stand still for more than one second you will get stunlocked and torn to pieces.

IMPORTANT: The remaining Gigantic Bee Hive is a Structure that blocks your way, so keep that in mind.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Also make sure you check the wall area for items that might be hidden.

Are you still alive? Yes? Cool, then let's check out what items we got from the Bee Queen.

After being killed the Bee Queen drops the Bee Queen Crown, a blueprint for the Bundling Wrap, 6-7 Royal Jelly, 3-4 Honey, 1-2 Honeycomb and a Stinger.

Royal Jelly is a food item that is used to cook Jellybeans, one of the best healing items in the game. It restores a total of 122 HP over 2 minutes and doesn't spoil. The recipe is simple: 1 Royal Jelly and 3 Fillers (e.g. Berries, Ice; excluding Twigs and Monster food). Cooking one Royal Jelly gives 3 Jelly Beans, so in total you get healing items worth at least 2196 HP. Eating more than one Jellybean at a time won't stack the effect.

The next item is the Bundling Wrap. It's arguably the best survival item in Don't Starve Together. It allows you to put 4 stacks of items together in a Bundled Supply. You can basically wrap any item excluding special items like the Eye Bone or other Bundled Supplies. Food Items in Bundled Suplies don't spoil which is great to stockpile food for winter. Furthermore the Bundled Supplies allow you to drastically improve the amount of items you can carry with you. Let's say you want to raid the ruins. No problem. With Bundling Wraps you can fit materials for a base, food, weapons and armor just into your backpack. This also works the other way round. You got a ton of gears, gems, weapons and moleworms from the ruins and want to bring them to the surface? No problem. Put them into Bundled Supplies and you can transport all the stuff in one trip.

After unwrapping a Bundled Supply all the items will fall on the ground together with a piece of waxpaper. That means you can use the waxpaper over and over again as long as you have rope to craft the Bundling Wraps.

Now to the last important item: the Bee Queen Crown. It's a piece of armor for the head slot which has 945 HP durability and absorbs damage by 70%. It's armor values are mediocre at best but it has a really nice feature: it inverts insanity auras. Monsters and giants each have an insanity aura which means staying near them drains your sanity. If you wear the Bee Queen Crown however, the sanity drain is turned into a sanity gain. That way you don't have to worry about being attacked by shadow creatures while fighting Deerclops for example. The Crown also has another fancy feature which you might discover while playing together with other people.

The Bee Queen Crown negates the sanity drain from the tentacles.
IV. Some last Notes and Remarks
This strategy still works if your world only has juicy berry bushes and you can't rely on a bush hat. Just put on some more armor for the fight and if the Bee Queen attacks you keep running over the tentacles until she fights against the tentacles again. You might repeat this step a couple of times but the result will be the same as if you had a bush hat. (btw: even on maps with only juicy berries on the surface you might find one or more normal berry bushes in the caves)

In my test run i killed the Bee Queen at the end of day 8. I was lucky to find the important biomes early and i was even luckier to get all the tentacle spots within one day. However the time needed for this strategy highly depends on luck and the map generation. On some maps it might take 15 or even more days.

Also if you look at the screenshots you might notice that i don't wear too much armor. If you are a bit inexperienced or try the steps in this guide for the first time (especially killing tentacles) then wear more armor than i do. Two log suits are gone pretty fast after receiving a couple of hits.

This is by far not the only way to kill the Bee Queen. Don't Starve Together offers a wide variety of possibilities to deal with bosses, from tanking with marble suits, utilizing a legion of bunnymen to magic and gunpowder use. Search the internet or try to come up with some own ideas. It makes the game a lot more interesting and fun.

That is the end of the guide. I hope you find it useful and interesting. If you have any questions or suggestions leave a comment, I'm happy about any feedback :)

But the tentacles were attacking her. I used exactly 5 books. Thank you for the tip, next time I will lure her to them.

@Evil Morty Tentacles are a special kind of mob since they can retreat into the ground which makes any other mobs lose aggro. In the case of Bee Queen she will randomly fly around the area (I assume you were hiding under the Bush Hat) until she eventually despawns. To prevent that you should lure her back to the Tentacles before that happens (see part IV first paragraph) which will make the Tentacles attack her again.
It is normal that some Tentacles won't spawn since some spawning places are blocked. The 8x8 field is still necessary because that will keep you just out of range of getting killed by your own trap. If you use at least 5 books you will still get a sufficient amount of Tentacles to kill her.
I hope that helped, good luck for your next try!

She f***ing flied away. I was so close, that my sanity was draining. After she was being attacked by couple of tentacles, she flew away. 8x8 grass wall field prevented 1,5 books from spawning tentacles! I did everything step by step. I rage quit because i didn't have any papyrus left, and she killed some tentacles although there was A SMALL AMOUNT of them in the battlefield. They dropped Tentacle Spots but I just left. I'm not being a hater or something, I'm just really annoyed and I want to know what did I do wrong.

pain be when none of the tentacles spawn near the bee hive itself so she never gets aggro.
