How to make old Portal mods work

This guide explains how to fix crashes that occur when trying to play Portal mods that were released before the Steampipe update. The steps are very easy to follow, and you should be ready to enjoy your mods in no time.

Fixing it

The first step is to navigate to your mod's directory, which should be located inside your sourcemods folder. After doing that, open the "gameinfo.txt" file.

You should see a section called "SearchPaths". If you can't find it, press Ctrl+F and type "SearchPaths" (without quotes) to find it. What you want to do here is to delete everything under that section and replace it with the following:

Now save the file and restart Steam.

Launch the mod using its shortcut in your game library and have fun!
