Instructions
The secret level, titled E1L6': Power Core is accessible from E1L6: Fusion Plant - Part 1 (as hinted by Kain at the start of the said level). Thus you need to reach this level first in a complete playthrough or start from scratch by selecting it through the Quick Play menu.

Once in Fusion Plant - Part 1, you need to hit three extra switches along your way to open the secret exit which is located just before the regular one.

1) Left section - Once you reach the part shown below, hit the switch located at the back side of the pillar as well as the front one which is required for progression.

2) Right section - The second switch is located in the arena shown below. Of the two identical blocks in the midst of the first floor, check the right side of the one located on your right upon entry.

3) Middle section - Upon completion of the left and right sections, the middle section leading to both of the exits becomes accessible. As soon as you step into the said section, check the balcony on your left. Hidden behind a supply crate lies the third and final switch needed for secret exit. You can reach this balcony by using the jumppad in the middle or simply bazooka-jumping.

If all three switches are hit the purple forcefield located in the same floor with the third button goes down, allowing you to progress into the pit which leads to the Power Core. Before leaving, you may want to go through the last battle of the map at the second floor of the middle section for better map completion percentage. After that, instead of stepping into the teleporter leave the level via the mentioned pit.

Notes
  • Leaving Fusion Plant - Part 1 through the secret exit rewards the player with Fall Into Darkness achievement, while successfully completing Power Core grants Hair... Avenged.

  • While progressing through the level one gets the 'Blast Guard', a permanent power-up which greatly reduces the damage taken from bazooka-jumps.

  • In keeping with the tradition of gimmicky secret levels of the classic shooters, this level requires extensive use of bazooka-jumps, so think outside the box if you get stuck.

  • Power Core can also be launched from the Quick Play menu - doing so, however, does not unlock Fall Into Darkness achievement.

  • Even though Power Core comes packed with its own opposition, secrets and treasures, it is not needed to complete (or even reach) this level to get any of the three completion percentage related achievements (i.e. Arnold Sager, Indiana Sager and Ferdinand Sager).
