OldTV (V) - Gameplay guide
By Diplomata do Caos
Hello people! I don't know how many of you wanted a hardcore version of builing a wall the color-word test wall and even more a guide wall. I'm making this guide to the people who want to undertand wall what is happening in-game and how to get furtherwall without using the skip When a full version of this remix will come out?!

Basic Stuff:

This game is a mix of two ways of process. You only will achieve faster speeds with reflexes, but dodge the oddballs with thinking. This will require some training your muscle memory, so the first thing you need to learn is:

You should always aim for constancy over brute speed

If you need to lose, lose to time out (frequency loss), only rush questions if you are almost getting a black screen.

Frequency:

You win frequency with comboning, at max combo (3 crosses) you win 0,85 sec per answer, with is enough to check the questions and build a reserve for strange ones. Losing your combo means losing a lot of potential frequency (remember the constancy?), it takes 12 quick anwers to recuperate.

Combo and Sherlock:

You gain a combo cross (max 3) for each 4 quick anwsers, combo let's you build frequency back and are of absolute importancy.
After achieving full combo, if you make 3~4 anwsers (with a addtional cross cose to the word appearing) in less than 0,65 each you will unlock sherlock mode (or as i like to call it, smash mode), where you can just click to advance until the time or continent runs out. I don't recomend forcing a sherlock as it's very easy to miss at this timing.

Mechanics:

Those are stuff with gives mindscrews. Those things can stack! So you can get a flipped, color background scrambled word. But I don't know with ones can combo, or if it's possible to make a doom combo of equation with blue and cyan, flip, color back, scramble and inverted controls.

Basic tests: Base of the game. You don't need a guide for thi... need it?

Color Background: One of easiest... in most cases. If the word has the same color as the back, use the margin of the word to discover.
Be extra careful with yellow, it's heavy influenced by the background and can look brown (sending you to red)

Scrambled word: Other easy. Aim for the Capital letter and the size of the word to identify. If it causes headaches in your languague, try using other (english works really well for me).

Vertical flip: Use the same tatic as scrambled.

Inverted controls: The hardest one in my opinion, usually inverted errors are a lot harder than inverted corrects. In preference, use a hand for each button. And take care of the next word, as you can still think inverted!
Obs: Not present on Saturn! HURRAY!

Don't switch: JUST STOP! Simple like that! Those can make some lose their timing or precious low 10 frequency.
Not sure, but a higher combo make those pass faster.
In case you don't know, you are switching frequencies to catch those of the countries of the world

Lost Signal: Press the buttons to recallibrate the signal. Two hand hugely recommended

Equation: It asks if both words are right or wrong. Usually it uses the same word or color (a blue "cyan" = cyan "blue" is guarranted to bring hell), some (like me) may find this to be easier as you are comparing stuff of same level (instead of just color and text).
For most cases, I recommend to think fast using the similarities: If you see two "red" texts, but they are different collors, hit wrong.

Other challanges:

Cyan vs Blue:

Many people will hae problems with blue "cyan" or cyan "blue" as they understand that cyan is a tone of blue.
In those cases you need to override your instinct... but it takes time and it's prone to errors...
What to do? Make a new muscle memory. (WHAT?!?)
Everytime you see those, don't think fast. Stop, and take your time to think the right answer. If you need to make things simple, train on Oceania.
If you miss too much, you will react wrong because your quick response is the wrong one. If you hit right, you will notice that you will go faster in the next ones.
This is a game that practice really makes you better.

Screen flashes effects: They can really scare and break your concentration, try to turh the effects off in the options.
Combo gain causes a screen shutter every step. So expect a flash if you hit 4 quick names, or lose too much time in one word.

Music: Yes, the beat of the music can make you a little faster than the necessary, the most probable ones to cause that is the Americas music because of the singing. TURN THE MUSIC OFF IF YOU NOTICE THAT. Put a loop (loop is really important) that has a beat around 0,75 sec of time. This will allow to build frequency for hard ones while letting a lot of time to think.

Saturn (and maybe oceania) is the only one I recommend to keep playing. It's slower, and when I tried Saturn first time, I managed to get the 200 channels achievment.

training: As this is a game of brute perception and control, it tires very quick if you don't have the mind stamina. if you find yourself missing too much at certain stuff, STOP PLAYING and take a break. You need to have a clean mind to learn new stuff, and you will be teaching your mechanical the wrong stuff.

If you need stamina for the 200 channel achiev. than you force yourself to long sessions, but first you need to dominate the mechanics.

fleeting thinking: Be sure that you are think in th game AND thinking of the current word. It's very easy to have a quick memory or taste tilt your choice. For example, I really like purple, and most of my errors with purple were quick left buttons because I immediately approved the color. I didn't even read the text. The same can happen if you are thinking too much about blue and cyan, you stop to differenciate stuff to start a scearch for what you are thinking.
A solution is too sing/talk the color names, it will keep your brain occupied to not distract.
If still not working, stop and go to a place without those colors to relax a bit. Preferrence for something not color-related, like manga or books.

The End

And always Remember: Aim for constancy before brute speed

not gonna lie when I first got this game I was just typing the words lol, how do you know when controls are inverted? I think the little red plus in the corner is don't switch, I still seem to lose out of nowhere but it could also be stuffy mouse or not even realising I've done it wrong

Left click when the word matches the color; otherwise right click.
