How to not suck so much at MW3
Av Blast
This guide will help you get your KD up and die less in MW3 (Hopefully). It will also help you realize that a lot of people you might call hackers, might not be cheating but using these tactics and game mechanics.

The Class
The class/loadout you use in the game greatly affects your gameplay performance when playing. If you use MP7 Silencer Rapid Fire with sitrep pro, you are pretty much guranteed to have at least a 1.0 KD that game, unless you really are that bad.

However, using the MP7 is boring, because it's the most overpowered weapon in the game (besides ACR maybe), and so it gets abused and overused.

I suggest, that you pick your class by the map that you are playing on, for example, if you are playing on Dome, i recommend a class with the pp90m1, and steady aim so that you can just hipfire rekt the other team.

In my opinion, here are the best AR's:
ACR 6.8
AK-47
M16A4
SCAR-L
FAD

Now for the SMG's:
MP7
P90
PP90M1

I suggest using any of these weapons in your class if you want to do well, I would go indepth on ALL of these weapons if there weren't so many, but i'll go through a few right now.

MP7 - Pros: No recoil pretty much, high damage, good iron sights. Cons: ♥♥♥♥ move.
ACR - Pros: No recoil pretty much, good range/damage, great iron sights. Cons: Less speed.
SCAR-L - Pros: Medium damage/range, good iron sights. Cons: Recoil, not high damage, less speed.

Use whatever weapon you want, but now it's time for the perks and lethals/tacticals.

Honestly, use dead silence, stalker or sitrep as long as you have either of those pro.
Dead Silence allows you to soundwhore at a medium level, however it becomes useless if the other player is using Sitrep Pro, contrary to popular belief that Sitrep Pro players can't here Dead Silence players.

Stalker is very useful for AR's and the pro version allows you to delay any lethals, which can prove useful for campers.

Sitrep Pro is by far the most overpowered 3rd perk. Makes enemy footsteps louder, so much so you can know almost exactly where an enemy is if they are close enough, depending on your volume and what else is going on. DO NOT BECOME DEPENDABLE ON THIS PERK! It can and might let you down if you become to dependent on sound rather than actual game sense!

Lethals: C4 = best if you know how to use it, can get you out of 1v4's or even higher numbers, double tap f to make it explode without bringing out the button which takes longer.
Tacticals: Portable Radar = So many people don't realize people might be using this tactical to know where you are, thus many hackusations are made, just use it and look at your radar. Note - You need Assassin PRO to counter this, regular assassin will not help you against a Portable Radar.

Now for Killstreaks, I highly recommend you use specialist, because you get perks along the ride to help you if you want more perks, like if you are using an AR and Stalker but want Sitrep Pro to hear people, just put it in. Also, once you reach 8 kills (7 with Hardline) you achieve specialist bonus, both giving you extra XP, but also giving you every single perk in the game, even ones you haven't unlocked. Note - DOES NOT GIVE YOU PRO FOR PERKS YOU DONT ALREADY HAVE PRO FOR.

For death streaks, just.. don't use dead mans hand or final stand, or martydom, people will hate you if you do.

This concludes the Class section of this guide.
In-Game
In this section I will go through numerous tips to help you not die in-game.

1. Look at your Radar, wherever you and your team isn't the enemy team might be spawning or just be over there in general. Use that tactic along with the second one coming up.

2. ADS around corners. To be prepared for a fight, you should almost always Aim Down Sight before turning a corner, especially if its an area where the enemy team might be.

3. Sitrep Pro, use your sound and if you hear footsteps that are very close, prone around a corner and wait, or do it the manly way and wait until they are close enough, then jump the corner while prefiring or preaiming.

4. Go around corners wide. This means when turning a corner, go on the outside of the corner instead of sticking to a wall because if you are the outside, you will quickly be able to get out of the enemies sights if they turn the corner at the same time by going behind them, however, if you react fast enough, they will always be in your sights.

5. Strafe. I can't express how useful this tactic is. Not only is it useful, but it's surprising how many people don't understand how to do it. When you are in a gunfight, DO NOT STAND STILL! Simply use your movement keys to go right to left in a RANDOM ORDER, do not just go right then left, because that's easy to aim on, but if it's random you can get the upper hand because the enemy doesn't know where you're moving and has to wait to see before reacting.

6. Improvise. Do whatever you need to do to survive, jump, prone behind something, be smart, you can even bait your less informed teammates to get shot at so you can peek up and shoot the enemy.

7. Know when to run. If you are in a gunfight and you get low, get the hell out of the way! don't just keep fighting if you know the enemy has done more damage than you have. If you run, you can regen then surprise the enemy by coming back at a random time, this is usually just called a reset, just reset the gunfight, that simple.

That's pretty much it for now, I update this guide if I have more stuff to say.
Movement
This section was added 2/24/18.

Movement is very important in games like Call of Duty, mostly because you can abuse the engine these games run on to get through the map faster, use shortcuts, get to glitch spots and have really good peeks at enemy territory. A friend recently encouraged me to watch old CoD4 ProMod footage to see how pro players would abuse the engine, when I got off my ass and watched some of these videos I was astonished that people could move like this without modifying anything, just abusing the game engine and it's mechanics.

To give you an example,

Now of course, that's CoD4 and since then they did make changes but you can still abuse the engine quite a lot. However, you can still do "strafes" and also wallrun, which can increase movement speed and may help you get away from death.

First, how to "strafe" and what a "strafe" is.
A strafe is basically a jump that allows you to move in the air faster and for a greater length, there were some examples of strafes in the video above.

The best way to learn how to strafe is to play CoD4 and play codjumper servers and maps, then convert knowledge to other games running the quake engine. We will start with a left strafe.

Hold W+A keys at the same time with your sprint key, then jump and curve your mouse from the right to left, like making an arc or half a circle with your mouse, Remember to hold W+A keys the entire time but you can let go of your jump and sprint key near the end of the jump.

Just keep practicing until you get it, maybe go online and find some examples. A Right strafe is the same except with W+D instead of W+A.

Next up is wallrunning. Wallrunning is pretty simple, push up against a wall where you can run, when running keep yourself against the wall by holding W and the A or D keys, depending on which side the wall is. If the wall is on your left side, hold W+A, if it's on the right, hold W+D and just run, you can run 10% faster if done correctly.

In CoD4, there were also bounces and such, if you decide to play CoD4 and play codjumper servers, try doing bounces, they will help you get the mouse curve down for your strafes.

Oh also, you can do strafes and wallrunning in MW3, not just CoD4, so go ahead and keep practicing until you get it.
- Note:
The quake engine likes certain FPS levels, the most common examples are a maxfps of 125, 250, or 333, if you can keep at one of those FPS levels constantly, use it. If you can't just use 1000/int to find what you can reach and use that, if you use this rule you can find a good fps level that the quake engine likes, and that might help with these movement techniques.
