Introduction
If you've ever tried to play as a mage, you'll know how frustrating it is to run out of mana right when you need it. You can craft or buy Mana Potions to restore your mana, but those are a pain to use, so more often than not you'll just have to switch to a sidearm until your mana regenerates or, if you're fighting multiple enemies, kill one of the weaker enemies and hope they drop a mana star. This guide will save you from those embarrasing situations!
Setup
To start, you're going to want to get a reliable source of mana potions set up. This can be done by making a farm for the various ingredients or by simply getting a Merchant to move in and buying the potions from him.

After you've secured copious amounts of potions, you may be tempted to head to the jungle to pick up a certain useless item. What you'll need to do instead is open your settings, then click on "Controls" and open up your keybinds. If you haven't changed them, they should look like this.
Take note of the area in the red circle. This button can be changed to something more convenient (I have mine set to 'Q') so you don't have to take your fingers off of WASD to press it.

Now you should have your quick mana potion hotkey set up. But what exactly does this mean? Now, whenever you're running low on mana (or if you've run out of mana), you can just press that button and consume a mana potion from your inventory. This means that you can keep using your OP magic weapons like the Wand of Sparking forever without having to stop and recover mana!
Conclusion
Now that you can press a button to consume a mana potion from your inventory at any time, you can trash your Mana Flower and equip a real accessory with an effect that can't easily be achieved by changing a single hotkey.

Seriously though people, stop using the Mana Flower; it's actually the most useless item in the game. It may have a few benefits over a mana potion hotkey such as being automatic and slightly reducing mana cost (so slightly that it doesn't even matter for most spells), but unless you're just starting out and haven't found five accessories yet, there's no reason to equip it instead of something that provides some actual utility like an Obsidian Shield or a Sorcerer Emblem.
