(If this guide is of interest to you, then please rate it upwards.)

This short film is set in the base of a Far North Mining Operation, Arctic Circle.
The base is owned and run by the Cerberus Minerals Corporation.

Things are not looking good. Base Crew: 98. Survivors: 2.

The film starts with a woman helping a wounded man into a deserted cafeteria.

He quickly shows her how to shoot a rifle.
Then he has some sort of flashback.

There's a terrible monster on the loose; it's time to make a run for it.
They don some masks to get outside and go across to another building.

They brave the outside elements, and make it to the second building, with no problems.
But then the monster gets in; it's a mish-mash compilation of human parts, with human hands all over it.

The woman steels herself to shoot, and she blasts the monster.

But the monster keeps on coming.
Off they run. They're really scared now.

The humans are safe for the moment, in the grisly surroundings of their temporary sanctuary.

But it's time for some drastic measures.

The monster gets in, and attacks.

The woman runs away.
She makes it to a lift, which has a notice on it, saying "Keep hands clear" (surely that sign should keep out the multi-handed monster).

She goes down the lift, then doubles back up, and looks warily for the beast.
But the monster has kept an eye out for her.

She shoots the monster - and it's down!

She decides to axe the monster for a hand.

She makes it into the next safe area, because she's quite handy that way.

The monster is locked out, but desperately wants to get at her.
Will she survive?
Only time will tell.
Notes

Zygote is quite a good short movie.
I guess it would be classified as a futuristic horror film.
The production, acting, and effects are all very good.

It would be interesting to see if it was made into a full-length production, with the story fully fleshed out.
