Great Substance Designer review on Indie Game Mag
Release date: Already out. Current version: 3.2.2
Substance Designer 3 is a texturing toolset dedicated to game developers.

It is meant to let 3D artists create beautiful materials for real-time applications and embeds all the necessary tools to do so:
  • Ultra efficient baking techniques: High quality Curvature, Ambient Occlusion, World Space Normal Map, UV layout to vector graphics, in less than 2 seconds.
  • Seamless painting/image editing tool: make the old offset method a thing of the past !
  • Batch processing capabilities: encapsulate and replicate your most common operations on all your assets in one click.
  • Semi-Automatic Texturing: A mesh and a normal map, that's all Substance Designer needs to create a fully customizable material for your object.
  • Modern 3D preview to actually see what you are doing on your model (that helps…).

All the above in a non-linear, node based environment that is now the norm when it comes to game development (similar in fashion to UDK's Material Editor or Maya's Hypershade tools).

Substance Designer 3 is the only tool truly dedicated to texturing for game developers, join the bandwagon and be part of the next texturing evolution.
Some big guys already have their hands on the tool:
