We have two Steam links launching over the next few days. Abduction has been split into episodes, with us now working around the clock on the first major Episode (Her Name Was Sarah).

Monthly Update – Beta 0.0.45, Major Progress
  • Many fixes and controller rewrites for Vive Support
  • Snuck in a full movie into some of the inbetween scenes
  • Created better input class systems
  • Resolved many issues identified at different tradeshows
  • Major FPS reductions
  • Reduced outer city
  • Cleaned up heirarchy
  • Merged release and private repos
  • Reworked some 3D models and designs
  • Rescaled elements throughout scenes down to 1,1,1
  • Began integrating the CanvasUI alternative
  • Created a beetter lighting look and system for the room lights
  • Reduce GUI text and icon, scale it based on settings
  • Allow walking around (locked to navmesh - chose colliders instead)

  • Reworked all the transition scenes and launch video scene to use proper scaling

  • Redid a portion of SteamVR, got a big SteamVR performance boost for it
  • Fixed issues with random collisions happening in the Main Menu
  • Adjusted the game perspective to 5'10
  • Fixed Main Menu, are we still too small?
  • Fixed Main Menu, are items sitting on the floor for a reason?
  • Look at SteamVR fixes to improve FPS

About Abduction
You wake up in the middle of the night and quickly realize—you’re not alone. Armed with your wits, it’s up to you to make it through your apartment, find the tools you need, and survive the ABDUCTION.

Gameplay
Abduction is a puzzle survival game, where it is up to you to decide the best way to survive. You can evolve character traits that can grant you advantages - take a stealthy approach or even attempt to face them head-on. Whatever you do, you must learn fast to stay ahead of the many different types of entities searching for you.

But when you see a hunter, just run.

Hardware Compatibility
Abduction is virtual reality enabled (but not required to play). In addition, it supports a large volume of virtual reality headsets and input devices - so if you purchase a device in the future, you can bet it will work with it.

    (Windows 7 or later, 2GB RAM, 2GB Disk Space, and an i5 CPU or AMD Quad-Core)

Ha! Thanks! We just pretend it is already and continue on anyway ;) At least when it passes we will be good to go - but it does mean that we are mostly working the discussions and betas outside of steam.

Also, Mr Peanut, if you think the crawlers creepy you should see what we are doing with the shadow people now :D
