how to build a unifi router:
1. grab your router (idk dream machine, cloud gateway, or dream router.)
2. connect ur hardware - plug in the isp modem into the router's WAN port, then connect to a PC or switch to a LAN port, and don't forget to power the stupid thing on.
3. install UniFi network with the built in unifi os or u can install the unifi netowrk controller on the cloud.
4. run the initial setup wizard by logging in to unifi, set the wan (dhcp, pppoe, or static ip), configure LAN IP range and DHCP, then create a Wi-Fi network if applicable.
5. configure security and the routing features, NAT, VLANs, VPNs, and threat management (IDS/IPS) as needed.
6. adopt and manage devices, add unifi switches and access points through the controller for centralized management.
7. test and optimize, check the speeds and stuff, install updates if needed.
