Although I gave it a thumbs up because you have to choose up or down, my initial impression of this game is mixed/in the middle. This is a port of a Psikyo arcade game released in 2001, one of the first if not the first Psikyo arcade game to use the NAOMI (Sega Dreamcast) hardware. It's a sort of 2D/3D hybrid similar to Taito's "Raystorm" and "Raycrisis" that is mainly vertical scrolling with a wide playfield but your ship has the ability to rotate both left and right to attack enemies.
This game requires more powerful hardware than prior Psikyo games because of the Dreamcast base, but anything released in the last 2 years shouldn't have much trouble playing it as long as you have a Core i% or comparable AMD processor (maybe an FX line or at least a Ryzen 3). It looks and sounds arcade perfect, but the reason I nearly went thumbs down is the controls. It's not complicated with only 3-4 buttons but you have to designate two buttons to rotate the craft and it's difficult to figure out at first. It does not help that there is no option to toggle dual stick controls, which would have been perfect for this type of game, and also with a gamepad analog controls feel too loose and over-responsive.
It's a fine game and another one I eagerly got to support the developer, but unless you've got a high-end PC that's relatively new you may want to pass on this one. It would be better if the controls could be tweaked to add dual-stick support to allow binding of turn controls to the right stick, then it would be perfect and much more playable.
