I highly recommend this game, I spent 85 hours just on the singleplayer alone, and I enjoyed myself greatly. The mech customization is easy to get into but has enough there to get a real kick out of finding just the right build. The voice acting is incredible, I got attached to the characters without ever physically seeing any of them on screen. The story was interesting enough, and each of the ending hit home. The game is also just beautiful, Fromsoft is great at landscapes and it continues into this game, there are some real beautiful and breathtaking moments in this game.
I think any mecha enjoyer would love this game, and even if you aren't I recommend trying it out. I got it for free, however I would pay full price for this game.
