The bison is the best weapon in the game. I would even go as far as to say it is incredibly over-powered. The fact that you can do four damage to buildings is a power that soldier does not need. It can be really devastating to pair it up with something like an infinite ammo clip too, with a fast reload to compensate for the fact that it only has 4 bullets compared to stock which has has 6. And another thing it gets right is projectile penetration with up to 25 damage which can happen up to a theoretical infinite amount of times. and don't even get me started on how these stats pair well together when they are all in the same weapon. There is an incredibly small flaw with the projectile speed, but that actually works in its favor since the fact that it makes it easier to hip people multiple times. The crits are even better with them being 60 damage and all which can happen several times in succession to multiple people which can hit multiple people, causing an entire team to run to a healthpack, dispenser, or medic (which can also die to the all- mighty bison). In fact, it is so overpowered that they even had to nerf it on certain ramps to make it remotely balanced. And even correctly assumed that the Red team would be better at using the bison, making areas where the projectile disappear larger. How can you avoid the 11 damage at far range either, which makes it a monster at farther ranges too. when you use it, its like you gain an exponential amount of skill, that if not known how to use properly can be useless, so that's why you need to learn how to use it when it comes to that. That skill also seems to be why people only use it for ten minutes then throw it away, thinking its garbage. I even fell victim to that mindset, which makes me look like a sheep. And to be Frank, I think that mindset is incredibly unfair since its like throwing away a box full of gold coins. Why throw away the bison when you can throw away actual bad weapons like the scorch shot. "but manel" you say "what about the slow projectile", well like I explained at the beginning of this essay, it actually benefits nicely with the fact that it can hit multiple times with the same projectile really saves it there. I am in firm belief that other than pencil shavings, that the riotous bison is the one of the few true gods. A way to nerf it is to remove the projectile penetration so it does a good, but not overpowered amount of damage, but also buff it to where the projectile is much faster (like the speed of a flare gun) and make it disappear on even more ramps to really balance it out for the better. It is so stupidly broken in its current state, I'm honestly disappointed in the tf2 developers that they even released the weapon in the first place, like why would you release a weapon so godly, that it can even rival gods in its current status? Seriously it would take way too much force by the enemy to even have a chance to take you down. the only advantage that stock has over it is the fact that it is a hit scan weapon, but that means that it cant penetrate people and get multiple hits like the bison can. I have to use the rocket jumper to feel even ok to use it without feeling like a douchebag for even touching it. I have a strange and 350 other bison's because of how godly it is, and the only downside is that I my backpack went down in value by 100 refined, but it was on all accounts worth it due to the bison being the best weapon in the game. It is the closest thing to pay to win that the game has gotten since they added benefits to full sets (including hats most of the time) because an unlock is basically a direct upgrade. Another thing to touch on when I talked about the skill it gave you is that it makes you feel like the exaggerated swagger of a bison soldier, when in all realty its the talent that the bison unlocks just by using the thing.
