I personally just don't enjoy this game, it makes me feel icky. I like the idea of it and I wish I enjoyed it but at the moment I haven't even played for a full hour (0.7 hours while I'm writing this) and I want to quit. Most visual novel games I would finish for the achievements but I don't know if I will for this one. I am still mid-game as I write this, trying to decide if I want to keep going to try and reach any ending or if I just want to pass on this one.

There's a very specific feel to this game and the personality of the player character is extremely set. I understand that story lines like this need to be linear in order to progress but I feel like the lack of choices that can give MC a bit of a different personality flair is a missed opportunity that makes the game feel more bland than it should.

The UI is pretty but a pain in the butt, I use subtitles in all of my games to help me and the ones in this game do not react well. I had to turn their speed down all the way to even have a chance at being able to read the text because it went by so quickly, half speed was still way too fast to be able to enjoy it.

That said the art style is beautiful, the character design really shines through with some nice details both on the love interest and around his room. His sprite has a lot of emotions and different poses that add to the game play, even in the short time I've been playing.

Changing things like your mood status don't seem to do anything and there will be no reaction to changing it. You can hack other's computers at any time, thus initiatig the minigame, even mid conversation. You can add friends names to your friends list and hack those as well if you choose.

It's a really fun visual novel with neat interactive elements to it! This has become one of my recent favorites and I'm actively looking for more like it. The base game being free for sure makes it worth a look if you enjoy a sassy love interest. I enjoyed the base game enough to go back at a later date and purchase the DLC.

I tried to break my thoughts down into categories as best I could, hope this helps!

Story
There's several different endings depending on your choices, including a bittersweet "bad" ending if you want to go down that route. In general the story line is very linear with choices making small momentary changes to dialogue that can potentially add up over time to change your ending if you keep clicking ones with similar themes. For example, the (spoilers for one ending type) wedding ending triggering if you select enough options related to getting hitched, meeting the in-laws, etc. throughout the game.

You are rewarded for exploring your environment and clicking on things.

The plot is very easy to follow and will always span 7 days, making it a fast paced experience in the long run. There are a lot of instances where it feels similar to a real video chat with the little details they put in. Conversation actually flows how one would expect given the strangeness of the predicament MC finds themselves in and they will regularly have the option to say what you were thinking (more or less) when you read the line yourself.

UI
The UI is very easy to use and I find its text easy to read even with a few visual impairments. The blue on black of the main text box may be slightly fatiguing for some people's eyes after a while but I found it to be manageable and it didn't detract much from my overall enjoyment of the game.

There is the option to fast forward and adjust the text speed as you wish, making seeing all the endings much easier as you can speed past the areas where each path is the same for a bit.

MC / Protagonist / Avatar
You can make your MC and customize them, however it is important to note that you will not physically see them interact with the love interest. You will get to see them in the upper left hand corner of the chat room screen though, so the variety of outfits to choose from is appreciated!

There are two body types to choose from, each with their own selection of outfits.

You get to set your MC's pronouns, gender, and what types of descriptive words you want used to describe them. There is even the option to input completely custom pronouns and descriptive words should you wish! They work well from my experience as long as you follow the formatting of the examples.

The personality of the MC is mainly dictated by your choices, with a little bit of a base line towards timid curiosity to set the plot in motion. You can be sarcastic / teasing, kind, confused, indifferent, cautious, bold, scared, annoyed, or any combination throughout. Your character will slowly start to kind of like Grim no matter what and possibly more by the end depending on your specific choices.

The Love Interest
I'm calling him Grim here, please bear with me!

Grim is a very sassy character, with a bit of an ego. It is not unbearable though and you can constantly tease him about it. He can also be rather naive about "human things," and internet etiquette as a whole. I promise it's rather adorable, I just don't know how to fully describe these moments without giving away the first few interactions and they're best experienced rather than told.

Grim will be your main source of information about the type of predicament you're in and is the driving force for the game as may be expected. He does well balancing out playful or tender dialogue with plot relevant information in a way that doesn't take you out of the immersion so much as further pulls you into your character's head. The perspective of his video calls really does make you feel like you're on A Date With Death and his body language reinforces his character traits.

His personality is slightly malleable in the sense that based on your choices he may be more forward and outwardly flirtatious or a tad more reserved with flirting and more shy. Either way he does have a very charismatic personality, if trending a bit dorky at times.

He is easy to fluster. Do with information what you will.

Fun game, I'd give it a 7/10.

I finished the game completely within about 4 hours, the game starts off a little challenging but once you make a few potions you come to memorize most of the combinations you can make with ingredients.

There isn't a lot of replay ability with this game currently as there is only one branching quest-line as far as I can find. Both sides of this quest can be completed within two play-throughs. Other than this split quest, all other quests remain the same each play-through.

Mechanics wise the game works very well. There is no lag, no graphical errors, no grammatical errors in the text, and character models are consistent.

The style of the game is simple and charming. You have one main sprite that you interact with in the game, a nice elderly rat lady, while all other characters exist only as pen pal esque letters. Though they are only introduced on letters it is obvious that there is distinct personality and story for each one.

For those going after the achievement "Not An Alchemist, But A Trader" I recommend to make an extra of each potion as you learn it from Professor Snail as you will have the recipe handy and it's easier to keep track of. Note that you can NOT make double batches of potions though and have to make them one at a time. There are only a few exceptions to this as you learn them from other characters, but to make things easier here is a list of every potion that you need to make and sell (default: left mouse click) to R;

1. Healing
2. Cold Resistance
3. No Sleep
4. Cure Disease
5. Jump
6. Strength
7. Invisibility
8. Agility
9. Light
10. Levitation
11. Cat's Eye
12. Slow Fall
13. Poison
14. Deception
15. Heat Resistance
16. Love
17. Enlighten
18. Truth
19. Cure Bane
20. Paralysis
21. Obedience
22. Luck
23. Burden
24. Plant Growth
25. Command Creature
26. Regeneration
27. Reverse Aging
28. Resurrection
29. Bane
30. Beauty

You should be able to complete every achievement in one play through with relative ease if you use the list of potions above to keep track of them.

This is a really cute game! I love the artwork and the visuals, they're charming in an indie way. It's a quick game if you want something that's just challenging enough to keep you feeling accomplished when you win a fight, Some of the platforming can be a bit tricky at times if you're not the best at the controls like I am but it is doable and doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the game. I had a really fun time playing this, would reccomend.

I really enjoy this game! It has cute character customization, the single-player and co-op game modes work well, the story line (I have only been able to play through 1 campaign so far) is captivating and enjoyable, combat difficulty is fair and works well for beginners and more advanced players of RPGs/Dungeon Crawlers. There is a lot of variety from what I have seen so far, I played the same campaign in single-player and multi-player and had very different adventures based on our choices, so they do have an impact on how your story will progress which is quite nice. I feel that this game has a lot of replay-ability to explore choices you didn't pick the first time around. I would for sure play this game more and have more hours if I wasn't so invested in playing a co-op game with my friend which has the same curse as all RPG campaigns, conflicting irl schedules haha.

I will be honest, I am by no means the best player (or even a good player) at this game. However, even when I have no idea what's going on this game is still super enjoyable for me to play. If you enjoy historical games, role playing games, tabletop combat, or simply pure backstabbing chaos then this may be an enjoyable game for you! :)
