WOW! This took me by surprise.

Firstly - some background. I'm a keen cricket player (IRL) and a massive VR fan. I've bought and played all of the VR cricket games that have been released to date.

I also thought that this game looked like shovelware and when it launched for £23 I almost passed on it as couldn't believe it would be any good.

DON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE. THIS GAME IS THE REAL DEAL.

I can not believe how polished and accomplished it is. Firstly, it gets all the basics right. There's loads of options for fine-tuning how the bat is set-up relative to your motion controller (something sorely missing in other VR cricket games), the graphics are decent and (most importantly) this is a surprisingly real simulation of the great art of batting. If I play straight and mime proper shots I get rewards. If a bowler bowls a short ball and I react with a cut or pull it works like it would IRL. When I cover drive a fullish ball off a floaty half volley it goes in the direction I expect it to. This is pretty stunning really and I have to applaud the devs for the realistic phyics and simulation of the game they've got in here. This is the best recreation of cricket in a game we've yet seen.

I also love the coaching and practise modes and the quick hit is really fun. I'm just looking into the challenges although not sure how they work with this gem situatuion. It feels a bit like a mobile game type of monetisation which in a £23 game feels a bit grubby Will update when I know more.

The Dev team have supported this game since launch with great updates and they continue to do so. They just dropped a new 'chase' made which is just a dream come true for me. Also more bat guard options (go 50% for the most realistic feeling). This is game is a 10/10 for me. Even if you don't love cricket it's worth checking out as is a great intro to the sport.

But anyone reading this should definetly buy this game. I've already had a lot of fun with it and can't wait to see where the team take it. If you have any interest in cricket then get involved .
