It took the combined effort of the entire community, but we did manage to pull through. Now to get at hand, this is the best game I have played in years, I recommend it with every fiber of my being, if you like coop shooters you will find in this game a long forgotten friend. The devs are enthusiastic and are constantly making new content. I look forward to seeing what the game and devs are capable of!

I was entrhalled with this game, it turned out to be rather short (it took me an hour and couple of minutes to beat). I love the aesthetic, and the game tells a nice story, the way the puzzles are made is very nice, as they give you hints if you are observant. I recommend the game to anyone who want's to experience a new twist to puzzle games!

An absolute blast
I have to say I am completely amazed by this game and this will be a very long review. For years the game sphere has shifted from games without meta progression to ones where the lack of such a system meant that the game was lacking crucial element. Such games reward very frequent play with rewards that add up to much more when compared to players that play less often. I am one such player, there aren't many games that can keep me playing for long and I often switch games. Atomicrops was the creme of the crop (pun intended) for me. Finally I found a one shot wonder that sratches every gaming itch for me. Be it the active combat that is not that overwhelming (this might be controversial), it has mechanics that aid gameplay and you don't have the constant pressure that you must make erything of each run or your time is wasted, unlike rougelikes with meta progression. In Atomicrops you can jump in play for a day and call it quits, save the run for another time and jump right into the action, you don't need to remember what you did that last time, you can just look at your stats the lineup of seeds that you have and in a moment can assertain the state of your farm when day breaks.
I have to say I still haven't defeated the first year and I have the Reap what you crow DLC. I would like to say that having bought the Crow DLC it is much easier to pick up the game because (I share the Crow mechanics) The Crow has to only deal with one type of seeds only progressing further ahead with megacrops . Now I would like to look more in-depth into the game mechanic-wise.
Firstly combat, I have to say that I feel the comabt is very smooth, as a whole you have an immediate intuitive feeling for how a gun would play by just looking at its model the shooting is smooth and to me the gun effects are not obtrusive, they even complement the gun and its bullets really nicely. Now the enemies are diverse but not I a way that all are completely different. I find that the zones are very well segmented and you can tell visually how enemies become sronger, every zone has its own challenges and they feel very different.
Secondly farming, I am very happy with the way it plays out, you have a quick and easy step by step process to growing your farm (again I will explain and use the spoiler box) If you have a pickaxe you create land, then you till the soil, then you sow, then you water and fertilize (when they glow in yellow they are completely fertilized) when the crop is done you can reap the rewards . The crops are diverse and you can easily tell them apart which improves readability considerably. They are not too much so that you get mucked up in they diversity. You can also boost your farm with friends that you pick up in the wilderness. I also love the setting that allows you to both shoot and manage the farm at the same time, this takes a lot of the pressure off of you.
Lastly the bosses, I like that they are clearly spaced out and you can feel the difference in complexity and difficulty, I have not fought agains all bosses but I am happy with how they work.
Now from a graphical stand point, the models are really cute in all aspects, I like how the enemies look and the way the game has a slightly goofy side, it adds a lot of charm. The colours are vibrant and I like how the models for enemies and the player juxtapose with the background meaning the crops and soil. The bosses pop out the most which help you a lot. The bullets do not get lost in the heat of battle as even though the game has some flashy effect you don't get distracted.
Now lastly I would like to talk about the music and sound effects. The music took me a moment to get used to but know I have it constantly running in the back of my mind, it is catchy and captures the atmosphere of hectic movements that at the same time have the rythm of a bee that flutters in the wind trying to share to its compatriots the location of the sweetest nectar while at the same time raindrops try to swat her from the air and you have rolling thunder in the distance signalling they impending doom of the increasing difficulty of each incoming day. I love how the small crops cheer and jump when they have matured enough to be gathered. The gun sound effect are subtle and they give you the feeling of power when you shoot, the feedback is rapid.
All in all I am very pleased with how the game turned out and I especially recommend this game to people that like an action packed game that does not give an unfair advantage to players that constantly play given the lack of meta progression and it is completely different each run. I adore the music and sound design even with its added goofiness. With the new DLC it makes it easier for new players to become acommodated to the game.
