So god was making the dog and he said to the dog. "You will sit on the verandah and bark at everyone that goes by. I will make your life 25 years long." And the dog said "WHAT? 25 YEARS! No i dont want that. I'll give you back 10 years so that my life is 15 years long." And god agreed.

Then god made the monkey and he said to the monkey. "You will do monkey tricks. I will make your life 20 years long." And the monkey said "WHAT? 20 YEARS! No i dont want that. I'll give you back 10 years so that my life is 10 years long." And god agreed.

Then god made the cow and he said to the cow. "You will slave away in the field and support the farmer. I will make your life 60 years long." And the cow said "WHAT??? 60 YEARS??? Here, I'll give you back 40 years so my life is 20 years long." And god agreed.

Then god made the human and he said to the human. "You will play and enjoy life. I will make your life 20 years long." And the human said "ONLY 20 YEARS? Here. I will take the 40 years from the cow, the 10 from the monkey and the 10 from the dog. That will make 80." And god agreed.

And that is why we enjoy and play for the first 20 years of our life, slave away to support the family in the next 40 years, do monkey tricks for the grandchildren in the next 10 and in the last 10 sit on the verandah and bark at everyone who goes past.
