I just want to say that I love this game. I rarely review games or comment but this is a great game, maybe even better than the other xcom games. Hope they make more. Thank you Firaxis!

9/10 closest game to a l4d clone on the market, and in my opinion a better game. Coming from someone that played earthfall, wwz, drg and others.

The game as it stands right now is one of the best coop games in the world, particularly in the heist genre, but it manages to also satisfy other tastes along the way. This game is a perfect blend of action, stealth, survival, tactics, looting and customization without the intense leveling grind or steep learning curve present in so many other games. Payday2 doesnt rely on hooking you in like a stingy slot machine as far as rewards. You simply complete heists and get paid! You unlock customizations for your character, many of which happens to be very cool cosmetics.

Completing heists also allows you to earn skill points to spend on a combination of different skill trees depending on your style of play. The skills themselves are just minor ability enhancements to help your do your job better within a particular mission. They are not required to complete any heist and you could probably max out your build within a few hours depending on how many points you earn from completing heists.

Payday2 does not have PVP, but one of the things I love most about the game is that it doesnt put you into direct competition with teammates. You never have to worry about a K/D ratio, stolen kills, stat shaming or even loot hogging because all loot is secured by the team and is shared. New players can jump right into the community and play out their favorite ocean's eleven fantasy without any stress or feeling under geared.

There are many different ways to complete heists. You can go stealth, hack security systems, clean out huge vaults of cash, and drill safes right under their noses. You can also go loud and proud, while fending off a relentless horde of gensec security agents. You can play these missions solo or with a full crew, but your success will ultimately depend on your character build and knowledge of the map and mission assets. This brings me to the planning screen. Before the start of every mission, you and your squad will select equipment loadouts, and place mission "assets" on the building blueprints. These assets can be anything such as camera feeds, security clearance, loot drop off points, or extra ammo and health kits in case you need to shoot your way out.

All in all I believe PAYDAY2 to be a well designed heist simulator, and coop blast with friends. If I had to say one bad thing about the game is that you quickly become so rich that you eventually run out of ways to spend your cash. I happen to play with an xbox controller but it is just as effective as a mouse and keyboard.

Here is my traditional review breakdown:

Graphics (great detail, very smooth framerate even with older cards, and looks better than most "next gen" games)
Sound (some language may not be suitable for children, but you're robbing banks what do you expect?)
Gameplay and mechanics (intuitive hud design and button layouts, does lacks sufficient cover system, but many customizable mods to choose from, and works very well with a controller)
Online (Very quick to jump into, no excessive loading screens, large active player base, great community, but try to connect to servers in close proximity for best experience)
Support (very talented group of designers, great support and communication with the player base, and lots of newly added content)
