Story / Pacing
Generally, I found the story to be compelling. Act 3 was the strongest regarding the story. There were some companion quests like Davrins that captivated me and made me quite emotional.
Regarding the pacing, the first act started slow and in the second you were quite bombarded with a lot of quests, mainly those of companions. I wish it would have evened out more over the acts.

Quests
I liked the linearity of the quests. But I think between having as linear quests as the way they were implemented in Veilguard and the open world (with a lot of repetitive fetch quests) in Inquisition, a balance would have been nicer. At first it was off putting that you did a mission in this game and there was a cut scene and then you were in another part that continued the mission. I got accustomed to it, but at the beginning it felt like I got pulled out of the story.
I actually really liked that you only got to take two companions on quests. It made me switch companions more often.

Combat
The combat was fun and by far my favourite from all dragon age games. I liked the combo possibilities with the companions and the animations for the finishers were cool.

Character Creation
I liked the character creation possibilities. The hair is astounishing and an absolute eye catcher. I liked the make up and body presets a lot.
But I got quite frustated with the look of my Rook tbh. When I first started the game / the character creation, I had to exit the game after some time and try it again the next day because it left me this frustrated. I couldn't get the face to be in a shape I liked and found the face pyramid to be confusing and couldn't get the grasp of it. I didn't like how the face (and body) preset kind of determined the look of Rook. I didn't feel like you could change them to be something different that deviated from the presets.

Rook
Rook could have been more nuanced. I wish there would have been more answer possibilities for the character. That Rook is canonically a quite young character was confusing to me as well. I wish the player would have been given the choice to play a younger or older Rook.

Companions
That was the first DA were I actually found all companions to be enjoyable. There was no outlier that I absolutely wouldn't have wanted in my party. I didn't mind that you had to take all companions in your party.
I really liked the companion quests that started to happen during Act 2. They made me get to know them better, which I appreciated. Sometimes I would have liked a bit more conflict between the companions and options for Rook to intervene, but it was nothing that bothered me too much being not there. I really liked the group scenes were all companions were there to talk. Made it feel really like a team to me.

Romance
Unfortunately, I found the romance lacking in some parts. I intended to romance Lucanis, but switched to Emmrich halfway through.
If Lucanis is supposed to be a slow burn, it was definitely too little burn. It felt like Lucanis was not even reacting to the flirting. I spoilered myself in watching his romance scenes on YT and found them to be not my cup of tea unfortunately. I think there was a lot missed opportunities with this one. Emmrich's romance, however, I found to be quite sweet. Although, I wish it would have been a little spicier and that there would have been an opportunity to discuss the impact of his lichdom on the relationship (which was addressed not at all if remember correctly).
Generally, I missed having more spice in this game and found it to be lacking in this regard. There was barely any nudity, which made me wonder why there was a nudity toggle at all. Definitely not the best romances BioWare has written.

Writing / Dialogues
Regarding the writing, I found it to be clunky in some parts, unfortunately, but not as bad as some people made it out to be. I think it could have used more time to round it off, so there would have been more depth to it. Sometimes it felt a bit to colloquial.

Bugs / Crashes
I found the game to be running quite smoothly on my PC setup. When I started the last mission the game crashed (which was the only time it did that). In the last scenes, before and after the Elgar'nan boss fight, there were a lot of glitches / flickering textures. Sometimes I only had the hair of Elgar'nan on the screen and everything else was not there anymore.

Other things I liked:
- The environments are beautiful and I found myself using the photo mode far more often than I anticipated.
- To put Griffons in this game was one of the best decisions made in this game.
- To give the player the possibility to hug Assan was one of the best decisions made in this game.
- Hezenkoss was such a cool character. I liked how the companions went into Emmrichs room to talk to her skull after defeating her.
- I liked the variety of the accessbility settings. It's so cool to see what's possible today.
- That Neve's prothesis made a sound.
- Manfred.
- Vorgoth.
- All the cheese wheels.
- The look of Treviso.
- Pausing the cinematics.
- Dialogue picking up after interruptions or that dialogue was relocated to the light house.
- Different decorations for the lighthouse.
- That the rooms of the companions change the further you are into the story.
- The art style. It really grew on me over time.
- Petting cats and dogs.
- Dorian and Isabella being in the game.

Other things I did not like as much:
- Dorian and Isabella were just there. I wish they would have been better integrated in the game with more dialogue and / or focus in the main story or side stories.
- There could have been more integration with the story of the last game(s) decision wise. Four decisions to import is a bit too little for my taste. I wish Veilguard would have had more continuity with previous releases in this series.
- I did not like a lot of the armours. I wish there would have been more that were form fitting and showed a bit more skin. And some more neutral armors would have been nice as well.
- The way the Antivan Crows were portrayed. I wish they would have been darker and a bit more murderous in their characterization.
