For a game that is still in Beta, Heroes and Generals is quite an impressive addition to the fps genre. Unlike other shooters like Call of Duty, there is no way to win in this game without teamwork. There is no team deathmatch. You have to work with your team to seige and defend objectives, and you earn victory progress by controlling more objectives than the enemy.

The combat is gritty, thrilling, and realistic. Odds are if you are not being careful and staying in cover as much as possible, you will be shot. There are controllable fighter planes, bombers, bicycles, motorcyles, civilian vehicles, armored cars, and tanks. The graphics are great and can be easily adjusted in game, just make sure your graphics driver is updated to the most recent version. When I updated my Nvidia driver, my fps jumped from ~25 to 50 with the same settings.

H&G is so far a great game, and I expect to get many hours of competitive fun out of it, and as a bonus, the game is currently free, so there is no harm in trying it out.
