totally loved this game. even tho only episode 1 is out im already hooked and excited to see more. i really love the style and how the levels are made so you can go about it in any route you want. for example the way a friend went though level 1 was very different from how i went though it. i have a few gripes like the map. in that there is none . im not sure if your meant to find one and i just missed...all of them but i really hope thats not the case. cause it did make it a lil more confusing going around places then it needed to be. and also would have liked if the game had some check points that trigger when you pass though them. but otherwise super great game. looking forward to the next epsiode and future updates

pros to this game:
insanely good visuals with a style that is just so cool.

visuals can be a little to much and cause issues of not knowing exactly how close you are to danger
issues with depth causing sorten segments to be harder then i think were intended
no main menu or settings so if you want to adjust anything or try a new save you might be out of luck

volume 1 and 2 already show alot of promise. as someone who loved hiveswap and friendsim i can say this game lives up to those so far. tho i would say dont jump into this right off of friendsim or hiveswap if you havent finished reading homestuck since this dos take place in the homstuck universe. but if you havent read and have no intention of reading homestuck but you still enjoyed hiveswap and friendsim on their own id say still try this game. volume 1 and 2 i felt could be read without reading homestuck and youd still enjoy them but would just miss the refrences

tho only one chapter so far its already won me over. great style, loveable characters and super fun music. if you have the time i highly recommend trying this game out and show the devs some support

ths game is really something special and i cant wait to see more of it.

last year i played edna and harvey the break out and it quickly became one of my all time fav point and click adventure games. i adored it for its dark humor entertaining cast of characters and all around charm of everything. so i couldnt wait to play the sequal. sadly tho i found this game a really big let down and something i find hard to recommend. it sufferes from a lot of issues . noting bug or glitch wise but just dosnt capture what made the first game so great to me. edna and harvey are not really in it all that much and harvey has had all life sucked out of him and turned into a rather boring character. the new main role you play you dont really get intersted in and i found my self not really carng what happened to her becuase she dosnt talk. we never get to know what she is really like and any chance of it is thrown away be characters constanly interupting her which gets tired really quick. most of the characters you meet are just unlikeable. everyone trights you like ♥♥♥♥ and makes it hard to care what happens to them and even if you did they are brushed aside very qucikly. giving you lil to no real interactions with them. also the puzzles are just the worst. in the first game the puzzles were simple and stright forward but never made it feel like they were spoon feeding you them. t felt good to solve them. but here they are a freakin mess and are way way overly complacted. so much should i might spend more then an hour trying to solve one. in the end i had to use a walkthough to get though them all and thats my biggest issue. a good puzzle game should be beatable without a walkthough and i didnt need one for the first one and i feel i can say most people who played beat it with no walkthough. here it feels like only a number of people would even have the paitenct to even get though half of them.

now i will say this. at the very least the look of the game is still great. still keeping that style that just beams with charm and a almost child like look. and the music for the most part is very good tho the opening song drags on a bit to long.

also lastly i want to talk about the brainwashing mechanic. spoilers stop reading now if you dont want it to be spoiled



in the game you get brainwashed to not do things your not meant to as a kid. play with knifes, with fire, dont like etc etc.
in order to be able to break though the brainwashing youll have to go into your mind some times and fight demons of harvey in order to be able to do the thing you need to. but you can only break one rule at a time and you must select them.

now im just going to say it. this idea and how its done is just horrible getting stoped by harvey telling you you cant do this just feels like its grinding things down to a halt were you got to stop . go inside your head beat him then go back to the real world just so you can pick up a torch and put it some where else no more then a few feet. and it never goes away.
also the parts of your mind you go in arent even that long or intersting. in a place where they could have given her more character and maybe even hinted at who lily was truly like every place in your mind. feels so random with no real connection towards anything that will be over before you blink

i beat this game in 9 hours and the orignal in 7. but it the games pacing this one feels so much quicker.

i adore edna and harvey but this game was just not right. if you have never played this series then id highly recommend you play the orignal game. and only if your really really needing more of this franchise then id say buy it. but if your not then id say dont buy this game.
