Absoultey recommend, refreshing difference from ds1 and ds2, charcter is developed throughout the story extremely well, gameplay is difficult at some times, but extremely rewarding.

A lot of people are calling this a dark souls reboot or some thing of the like, i disagree, its got dark souls challenge and combat in it, but that doesn't take away from the game itself, its combat feels a lot like dark souls, however combo's and movement in this game feel much more alive and easier to use than dark souls. In addition, the weapon progession in this game is lovely, using the different weapons to combo is insane and i love it. This game mix's Difficult gameplay, rewarding progression and a good narrative and creates an extremely immersive and fun expirence.

Many people dislike the new game because its not a carbon copy of the other two games, this is true, however this is a positive more than a negative, having a series in which every game is the same but you played different characters is way less enjoyable and immersive, having a good/unique change in every seperate installement is great, because not only are all the characters different with their strengths and weaknesses, the stories are also different.

This game is extremely immersive, in the others you could block and parry, however this would not suite fury, she wield's a whips into battle, which means shes an agile, more delicate character, the game aludes to this well, having enemies that can deal substantial amounts of damage to you and having the dodge mechanic useful but hard to use, really lends to the feel that fury is an agile, precise combat fighter, this suits her story and her mechanics in the game.

Now for a little comparison:

Ds1 was extremely hack and slash, it was the OG God of Wars, but expect of greek gods, its heaven and hell, that was amazing, there was some RPG elements but not fleshed out to large.
Ds2 then added a lot more RPG elements into the game, and better progression for your character, giving Ds2 a new refreshing feel, the same hack and slash gameplay we loved from the first, but with more in-depth story telling and more RPG.
Ds3 has now come along and has kept both the RPG and Hack and slash elements, but this time focused much more on combat and progression, the combat in this game is much more fluid and less clunky than the first two and in addition, the challange is great, there is nothing worse than a game that spoon feeds you victories theres no sense of achievement.

So overall, i like what this game has introduced into the series, it fleshs out the story, brings new gameplay and has extremely rewarding progession. I would recommend buying and trying the game out, its very fun. All the negative reviews that i have read are complaints about how it isn't the same as the other two games. Ignore those, buy the game, try it out, its a lot of fun.
