Early Access Review
Ignore the playtime as I have played the game during development, also playing it in a tournament setting multiple times and performing pretty well some of the time.

At first glance, the game might look a lot like Hearthstone, and while it has many similarities in the formula, the gameplay lends itself far better to a more strategic approach. While your first few matches you might not even realize it, the impact of good unit placement between boards and resource management are key to anywhere near a good winrate in this game. Despite this, the game is simple enough to understand the basics of that a new player can get somewhat comfortable with it in only a few matches.

If you're looking for a card game that is more in-depth and skill-rewarding than Hearthstone (coming from a multiple times legend player with a few hundred thousand views on his decks on HearthPwn - SikiCro), check this game out.

Payday 2 is a great game - ruined by the amount of DLCs, constant updates that add twice as many buyable features as free features and pointless additions. I mean seriously, did the addition of cloakers make ANYONE pleased? The different difficulties really show, both in loot and in gameplay, but doing the same heist over and over and over again starts to feel very repetitive and grindy. Just recently I was happy to hear that they added a character from Croatia, until I heard that you have to pay for a DLC containing him, just like with over half of the weapons in this game. Not to trash-talk all over the developers' work, it is a feat to continue making updates for a game for this long, despite most of them being just DLCs.

However, I must say that the first couple of times I played the game, my friends and I enjoyed it and loved it to no end. If you're gonna buy the game, I recomend doing so while it's at a discount and not buying the DLCs - you have more than enough free content for the time which you'll be playing this before it becomes repetitive.

EDIT: After playing this game again, I got reminded why I enjoyed it so much. The game does get repetitive at a point, but the amount of content released in each update, both free and buyable is more than enough to keep you getting back. I ended up buying the Dragan DLC and LOL-ing and ROTFL-ing at his quotes, and I don't regret it one bit.
This game is great, but I do recommend playing it over Skype or TeamSpeak with at least one friend.

Looking for a game in which you and your friends can run around armed to the teeth and own hordes of the undead? If so, this game isn't for you. This game is about barricading yourself in, conserving your ammunition, worrying about which weapons you are going to carry in your limited inventory and trying to survive against all odds with white knuckles and relying on nothing but skill, tactics and your team.
