When was the last time you had unabashed, raw, unadulterated fun while playing a game with friends? No frustration, no anger, nothing standing between you and the child-like glee that you once associated with playing video games with friends? Was it playing Minecraft in 2011? Maybe it was playing Club Penguin back in 2005? Think about that memory, really allow it to soak into your mind, your bones, your butt.

That feeling, that emotion of raw nostalgia for better times past - that is what Embr is. Just endless, enjoyable fun. The game play loop is enjoyable - put out fires, rescue clients, steal all their belongings without them knowing, and use the resulting ill-got gains to buy nicer looking pants and nicer rims for your fire truck. Having played this with a friend, the endless laughs, giggles, goofs, and gaffs that Embr provided really cannot be understated. Burned to death trying to rescue a pile of cash from a high rise building? Hilarious. Fall to your death trying to secure a $6 chair to allow you to upgrade your ladder? Insurmountable amounts of humor. Dropped a client down an elevator shaft by accident when you crammed too much loot into the elevator and they clipped through the floor? Wheezing. The child-like glee of being a fire fighter who saves buildings and lives mixed with the Skyrim-esque gameplay loop of stealing everything that isn't tied down makes for an incredible casual title that is boundlessly entertaining, especially with friends. The game runs great, has a good sound design, has tight enough controls for what is expected of the player, and provides solid customization options that incentivize continued gameplay. An easy recommendation for anyone who can con a few friends into picking the title up.
