First and foremost, huge thanks to Abstraction Games for bringing SNK Heroines to Steam. Really appreciate it.

Things I like:

The way your health and meter for special moves are tied together.
* It forces you to actively think about how you are going to use your special moves and when you should tag in your other character. For instance, if your opponent's health is low enough to hit them with a finishing blow but your first character doesn't have enough meter, you can do a combo to tag in your other character and finish them off instead. This gives the game a lot of depth, because you have to manage your meter carefully in order to win. Killing your opponent with your super is mandatory, so you can’t ignore this aspect of the game.

The items allow for a lot of creative expression through the game (if that makes any sense at all).
* You can use items like the hurricane to escape combos, or the bomb to extend your pressure, or control certain parts of the screen with a land mine or a giant wrecking ball. The coolest items in the game though, in my opinion, are the SP items, which I'd like to point out are CHARACTER SPECIFIC (meaning each character's does something unique). Mui Mui's is a burst akin to a burst you'd use in an anime fighter like Guilty Gear or Blazblue. Shermie's shoots her pet hamster down the screen that takes away all of your if it hits you. Mian's gives you super armor for like 5 seconds, and the list goes on. The items are very open ended as you can use them offensively or defensively, and there’s a mind game that develops when you try to predict when your opponent will use their item.

Combos are fun to do, and they aren’t super hard to perform.
*If you’re bad at IAD’ing (instant air dashing for the uninformed) you’re going to have a bad time though. You can always do ABC special (which isn’t a bad idea considering how items work), but the optimal combos require a good 3-4 air dashes.

60fps/Graphics in general.
* I only had the Switch version before it came out on Steam so I was stuck with 30fps. Lol
* The game looks beautiful though. I’m a sucker for colorful/saturated anything, and this game definitely fits the bill.

Netcode
* I’ve played 270+ online matches with people in the SNKH Discord, and the netcode is very good. It’s just standard delay based netcode I believe, but it works very well. Make sure ya play on a wired connection folks.

And lastly, the OST is fire.

Things I don't like (pretty minor things honestly):
* No way to watch replays as far as I know. I might be blind.
* I wish you could switch the song playing while you're in training mode without having to go to character select.
* More stages would be nice.
* You can't set a preset team in character select. I feel like this is a huge oversight since almost any tag game you can think of has this feature.

TL;DR: Don’t let the game’s simple control scheme/naysayers fool you. This game’s health/meter system, items, and unique characters make for a super fun fighting game.
