The biggest cons to this game are the AI being rigged with luck to create a "historicish outcome". All strategy games have this issue and often buffs the computer to make up for the human factor. Your AI allies will be very stupid and suicide and be worthless about 80% of the time, while your enemys AI will be brutal and captivate on your dumb AI and crush you. The luck and bonuses are fine, but the sheer stupidity of the allied AI ruins it sometimes.
Then there is the hoard of DLC that they seem to be releasing every 6months. Most of it is very, very overpriced and is not really needed for the game, but adds more depth to the game.
That being said, buy it when it goes on sale for like 5$ not 20$ or you will spend over 100$ easily on this game.
