Edit 2021: I decided to give this game another chance after a few years and I hate to say it but it's still garbage. It looks, feels, and plays worse than The Guild 2. This game will never be what we wanted it to be. Avoid it at all costs. Not worth $29.99.

Edit: New "developers" working on The Guild 3 now... so hopefully they can turn this pile of shi.t into something worth buying.

(I take that back... it's been a few months since they swapped developers but the people updating the game are the same old ones... So clearly they didn't swap developers. Just another lie?)

Removed from my wishlist, uninstalled, refunded, and I will never buy this game in the future for me or anyone I know. Nor will I recommend it to anyone I know. This game/series is dead to me.

This is by far the worst Early Access game I've ever purchased. This is one of those games you'd buy for someone you hate because it's that terrible. For it to be called Early Access is also a huge overstatement with how little content there is and so many bugs even after all the bug fixes they've released with 0 content patches. That's just sad. And them asking $30 for it is a scam.

This looks like it's going to be one of those forever Early Access titles or abandonware. It made my $3,000 gaming tower feel like a ♥♥♥.king potato. Avoid this game at all costs like it is the plague. These developers need to go bankrupt as well as THQ Nordic for being stupid and hiring GolemLabs in the first place. They should have re-hired Runeforge or another developer that made a previous Guild 2 title. Not some no name, no experience company that only made 1 or 2 computer games that no one knows about. They literally destroyed this game series and I highly doubt it will ever recover from this. Such a huge dissapointment seeing how they've been working on this game since 2014 or earlier and after 4 years or more of "game development" they've literally gave us dog sh.it in return. Hell, in reality dog sh.it is more useful then this game.

Bugs:

They're everywhere. Even when launching up the game and going into the main menu screen. I was able to see people levitating and hovering over the ground when they're supposed to be walking. In game I saw the exact same thing. How can a bug like that, that is so obvious since it happens everytime you launch up the game not be fixed already after a half a year + ? The character customization is super bugged and broken. And in game it's no different so why even waste my time with this trash.

Graphics:

They suck so bad. They look worse than The guild 2 and you can see this while playing or even during the character customization. You can see shadows appearing and disappearing when you zoom up on the landscape. Lines going through the water, so much blurry vision when you zoom out all the way, and in the character customization it looks so bad for the hair, the buildings/trees etc. Who ever is their graphics designer needs to be fired. THQ NORDIC should cancel their contract with GolemLabs in my opinion because this is just too much.

Optimization:

0 optimization. Makes any good computer feel like a piece of s.hit.

Loading times:

The loading times are horrible. So long considering the maps are so small which is unbelievable. I remember hearing these developers say the maps would be way bigger than the guild 2 maps because of the new engine they're using. Yet it's the complete opposite. In the guild 2 you could have 4 cities or 3 in one map and in here you barely have 1.

Character Customization:

The character customization is horrible. The voices are still broken for the males and sound horrible like a robot reading them to you with no professional voice actor doing it. There's still no female voices which has been this way since day 1 of EA launch and it's been over half a year or more and it hasn't been fixed. The guild 2 had more character customization and the abilities/traits actually showed you what they did. In the guild 3 there's no way of knowing what the hell each stat does for you and why you should invest your points in them. Also there's no hair color customization for male characters and for female characters the colors look hideous. And when I chose orange hair I could still see her brown hair underneath the nasty gross/poorly made (graphically) looking orange hair color they gave her.

No tutorial:

This should be a basic component included in every single ♥♥♥.king game that's RTS like. And of course it's not here. Which makes it way worse then it has to be because their UI navigation is terrible. It's like going through a maze trying to figure out what the hell you need to do. Even the guild 2 was way easier to navigate and understand then this game.

Maps:

Now there's 7 maps instead of 3 like there was on day 1 release. But in reality I wouldn't even consider them each a map because they're so small. In reality it's more like 1.5 if you combined them all since each map only lets you play in 1 city max. The guild 2 had maps that always had atleast 2 cities, 3, or even 4. And the majority of the map is unplayable terrain where they just copy pasted a lot of mountain ranges/forests to block it all off or water.

UI is terrible:

It's so hard to navigate through it all and when I opened up the map it made a door opening sound. You can't even tell what you own and what the enemy dynasty owns from looking at it. The guild 2 was so simplistic and in the guild 3 it's the opposite. All they had to do was literally copy and paste the same game and add more content to it yet they couldn't even do that.

Content:

It has way less than the guild 2 ever did and if you read up in the forums you'll see that they plan on removing more and more. WHY? If you're going to make a sequel shouldn't it include everything that made the previous games in the series great and a lot more? So why do these retar.ded developers want to do the opposite? They even want to remove the interiors from most buildings even though the fans don't want that.

Roadmap/Update Content:

They've delayed every single roadmap/content update they planned on releasing earlier. In 2017 this game should have had multiplayer already and it still doesn't. They only release bug fixes because this game is so broken and even after all those bug fixes it feels the absolute same to me, still a buggy unfinished product. In short, don't expect their roadmaps to be any kind of actual deadline for them since they haven't even followed 1 yet. It's just put up to fool the masses into believing in more false promises/hype. This game wont be done by 2018 and if it is then it's gonna be the worst game of 2018 ever. To me I personally feel like these retar.ds need another 10 years of working on this game or more. And by then it will feel like another forever Early Access game like DayZ/Project zomboid or another case of abandonware.

Moderator Abuse:

The moderator's are a bunch of puss.ies and will ban you for no reason or delete your discussion posts when you haven't violated any guideline. Or if you did violate one and made the correct changes to re-post it they still re-delete it just because they don't like what you said. Then they say it's violating another guideline you never violated in the first place. It's just their way of trying to silence any negative feedback you give about the game. When the developers/moderators want to burry negative criticism for their game then it's an obvious RED FLAG to stop supporting them. They think they can silence you on the forums but that doesn't stop you from giving them a negative review. So enjoy.


I was looking forward to this series but I have lost all expectations. I was willing to buy 5 copies when they had multiplayer and a lot more content added in. But that won't happen until I'm dying of old age. I bought every single Guild 2 game and this doesn't even deserve to be called "The Guild" anything. It's a disgrace to the franchise.
