I cannot sing this games praises enough, this is by far my favorite 2-D platformer and sits in my top 5 list of favorite games ever. Just by reading the other steam reviews you know that this is a hard game with a good story, but wow is the story good and WOW is this game hard.

Despite the simple pixel art and lack of voice acting, the writing hits hard and sticks with you by being one of the most accurate tellings of anxiety out there. I won't go into details but this game can be a real tear-jerker at times that's only further amplified by the amazing soundtrack by Lena Raine. This is one of those OSTs that you'll actually listen to outside of the game.

In just 43 hours of playing through and 100% this monster of a challenge, I had roughly 10,000 deaths. This game is not for the casual player, even if you only play through the main game you will die quite frequently. However, playing through and experiencing the full game including chapter nine will be an experience you won't want to miss. Even with this being the hardest platformer I've played, my enjoyment of the gameplay was not soured in the slightest, I don't think this game would have been half as fun if I didn't have to challenge myself to keep going. One of the craziest things about the game is that the story ties into gameplay, the game is meant to be hard and if it wasn't then Madeline (the main character) struggling would be less impactful to the story and to the audience.

I whole-heartedly recommend this game to anybody who is a fan of platformers.
