PS. I also see that the wiki for Gigastructures is a bit lacking. I'd be interested in assisting in that, and would like to talk with someone from the team about it :)
It does still work, for 2.8.*
Regular Machine World Expansion is the one for use with modern versions of the game. 2.8.* is the legacy version split off when the game made major changes.
So if you are playing pre-3.0 you want to use 2.8.* and if you are playing after-3.0 then you want to use the regular one
MWE and AscRings use the same Machine Ringworld name for the code so there shouldnt be any conflict between those two. You shouldnt end up with 2 Machine Ringworld possibilities to terraform into.
And if so would Machine World Expansion 2.8.* be compatible with Ascendancy Ringworlds?
I ask because I usually play on a ringworld of some sort and I tend to make my capitol segment into one big Generator district, the 2nd segment into an Industrial Alloy district, the 3rd into a massive district for making Rare crystals, gasses, and motes, and the 4th usually becomes a Fortress world.
I also use other mods which add planetary decisions that allow you to add one of several modifiers to a planet which give it further "specification" towards one specific resource or in the case of Strategic resources Crystals, Gasses, AND Motes.
A play-style which I feel both of your aforementioned mods would be perfect for ESPECIALLY if they could be used together in order to make ringworlds with Machine Generator Segments and such.
Ive always figured that the mod worked with modern versions. It doesnt overwrite anything in vanilla so it should work.
There might be some things that need to be included and I'd have to look at re-ensuring compatibility with however MotP districts may have changed. A much bigger project but I will try to look at it sometime after this weekend.
That said, give it a try, for the most part I would imagine it should still work. I dont update version numbers but that doesnt mean it doesnt still work
I'm not trying to be pushy, I'm just not sure whether or not you'll actually notice the other message I sent under the mod itself because the mod is soooo out of date.
Would you perhaps consider making an up to date version of your Ascendancy Ringworlds mod which would hopefully include your own built-in version of the Masters of the Planet - Main mod By Life-Seeded aka (Lasid) also with a built in version of your old AscRing Master of the Planet Addon?
I was looking through your workshop items when I noticed them, they sound amazing and would totally fit my play-style. If your too busy I totally understand, I just figure it never hurts to ask.
You could use that to emulate extra trait points. Like take say if has civic Meritocracy then an event will fire on leaders to add a random related trait that they dont have.
I also dont think leaders have "trait points" in the traits file for leader traits, they dont have a point value assigned to them.
It would be a bit an annoying event to create but I think that might be the only way to go about it. You could ask in the modding discord thought, maybe someone else knows better.
If you dont have a discord then I guess your best bet would be to leave a comment on one of the others profiles. Just remember to say you dont have a discord so you figured you would ask on the profile page directly.
And if the various authors dont allow comments on their pages then the only thing you really can do is make a discord and ask in the gigastructure server.
In fact, if you do have a discord that would be the best option as the Gigastructure page states "Please join the Discord if you want to give feedback, report bugs and ask questions, it will be far more efficient for both you and us."
So they would probably much prefer being asked a question there than on their profile. Idk if it would matter all that much but I always find its best to contact someone the way they want to be contacted lol
But its the exact same as steam friend chat or voice chatting with friends while you play with them or using in game chat lol.
But all that is irrelevant. Id suggest you join the Gigadiscord or Moddingdiscord to ask someone, get an answer hopefully and then leave it, but I would guess you dont actually have a discord.
In which case all you can do is either post on the Gigastructure mod directly or on the other author pages. Goodluck
Unless you mean you cannot afford something in the mod.
