edit: Cell to Singularity has continued to evolve, to the point that's it's pretty much at the top of the genre. Three different games in one, plus regular events, keeps things varied and interesting.

Game is very pretty, but doesn't offer much that is new to the genre. Turn on autoclicker, watch big numbers become bigger numbers until your eyes bleed. Still, if you're new to clickers you will be hard pressed to find a more approachable place to start. Or like me, you might find yourself getting sucked right back into this particular rabbit hole all over again.

Worth noting that any 'educational' content is pure theming, completely forgettable, and scientifically dubious (at best, evolutionary ladders anyone?). To be honest I hadn't realised that this needed to be said until reading a few other reviews, it's a clicker game after all. Seriously, do not base your middle school essays on this game, kids.

Also of note is that built into the game is essentially three completely different clicker games. Each are played separately on separate playfields and with no interaction between them. The first is the main 'evolution' theme from microorganisms to space cities, the second has a dinosaur theme, and the third is based around discovering the solar system. Each plays somewhat differently and takes a little bit of poking around to get used to.

Game is refreshingly free of hard walls, at least, not ones that can't be solved by spending the currency that drops reasonably consistently as you play, or otherwise byfiddling with your system time and date.

Did I mention that the game looks very pretty?
