I was trying to look for another local co-op rogue-like to play. During the Halloween Steam Sales I saw another game on my wishlist which was in a bundle with this one. Thinking it looked interesting and my small criteria was found in this game, I bought it.

Singleplayer actually works for me, so far. I've read alot of crashing problems but I've had none of those yet. It can get a little messy and confusing at some parts, in terms of not exactly being able to see what hurt you. I believe there was a halloween event as well, which just had this relic standing next to every portal to get to the next level. Sounds interesting, gets rather frustrating if you were just trying to pick up an item and then get teleported to a place that you can't possibly beat without having any of the upgrades. It would be amazing if there's a warning that you're about to go to "x" place before doing that. Would also help with all the other teleporters to other places. No, I didn't want to go anywhere, I just wanted to pick up that item/potion. That the game doesn't pause when you're trying to choose what skill you're using and stat you want to level up can get really frustrating, especially on controller in my oppinion. It's just painful to want to read through what every level up does exactly when suddendly a random opponent pops up in your face and hurts you. I can see how you wanted to add an extra challenge, yet like this you just constantly have to keep your eyes peeled and hope you found a good moment to level yourself up without getting hurt. At least have a save haven, like the shop for instance. Also it feels like the upgrades are necessary to just get past those points and I don't think it adds alot of fun.

It gets even worse on multiplayer though. I'm sure there's others but this is my first rogue-like where we had a split-screen. I guess there's the upside of just being able to do your own thing without having the worry of being stuck just because the camera doesn't go further, although I'm sure there's other ways of handling this. Not what I'm playing co-op for. Each screen is so small that we can't really see what's attacking us from afar. Suddendly getting rained down by a barrage of ranged units without a warning isn't exactly making the game harder, rather even more frustrating. It would be a great to have an option to choose one. Now for the worst part; When trying to read what skills do, what dmg boost they get from leveling up and even what items do exactly, text gets cut off because of the split screen. Not sure why this is still a thing while the game has been out for a while now.

It feels rather weird navigating through the forge, I can't even see the description of something I just created. It's another material to use for something else, I can still see the description of it on the recepie but why can't I hover over it? Having a mouse for non-gamepad users would be lovely.

Although I do still see alot of potential in this game, hence why I haven't refunded it. I am still a big fan of the art style and the music I heard in the different areas were really fitting. Leveling up happens at a fair pace and the items can add alot of fun. There's really interesting mechanics this game has touched on, which makes me keep the game and really hope the devs are going to work on these things.

I recommend buying it on sale, unless more of these frustrations get patched out or have options to get around them.

This game gives me such a nostalgia rush. Ore No Ryomi (there was probably a number behind that.. but I can't remember for sure) was one of the first freeware games I've absolutely loved and really got me into gaming. As soon as I saw the name of this game I just had to check it out, only to find that.. hey this is exactly like the game I played years ago! They totally stole that idea and stuff!.. Turns out it's vertigo again! I think it's great to see you guys made it this far and I just had to buy this game. My multi-tasking skills have gotten pretty good thanks to this :> Gameplay wise it's still pretty much the same, although I haven't unlocked alot of the things so I should probably not speak too soon. More upgrades though! Those always make me happy. Keep up the great work guys! :)

This game brings back the fighting game genre to it's roots. Sure people could move around but the whole combo system in fighting games has only been implemented because of a bug to begin with. THIS is the most fightiest fighting game you could ever play. If you're good at spacing and outplaying your opponent, then this is the game for you. It takes some time to get used to it, especially after playing a whole bunch of "normal" fighting games. There's even a friendly online tournament group that will educate new people about this game if they would like that. I went through that and I have to say, my divekicking skills have gone up by at least 30 levels.

Without a doubt; I RECOMMEND THIS GAME. At least give it a freaking try with this price :P

This is seriously a amazing smash-ish version for the computer. I haven't played it all toooo much yet but up so far the online play feels great to me, haven't encountered any bugs or bad connections. It's even free to play now! There's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't give this game a chance.
