I cannot recommend this game for homeworld fans.

As a 3d space RTS its a 7/10

In a genre like this the only real competition they have is themselves.. and they haven't created a superior product here to Homeworld 1 or 2. I dont think these are unfixable.
-Redo the Cutscenes.
-Increase Time-to-kill.
-remove or rework abilites to be interesting or usefull.
-Add more maps for free. (6 tiny maps is not enough)
-Make sure the maps are big... were in space ffs
-increase weapon ranges for destroyers and battlecruisers.

On a side note i think the Wargames is a great addition and i understand why it was implemented at launch but i feel it would have been better as a first DLC addition and more time spent on the traditional Homeworld experience
