This is a glorified walking sim with messy character art and also a 10/10 masterpiece 100% certified blursed game ever. My 17 hours were pretty much 1 session, the game can be completed in 10 minutes, nuff said?

Oh right, it's a superb murder mystery where everyone is guilty of something and generally just terrible but in paradise style is substance and around here we like giant purple glass goat skulls. A whole lot.

It's a vibe and a trip, the lore is unabashedly bonkers and I hope it gets a sequel just to do something completely different and confuse/disgust me all over again like a giant vaporwave sundae garnished with hotdogs and goat hair.

An echo of Outer Wilds that makes a strong first impression but fades quickly.

Leapt in and enjoyed myself. Heck, I will continue to enjoy and play this game, but I'm a jaded old ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and here's what I gotta make crystal clear:

The Warp of Darktide is the corruption of a developer grooming you for addiction with every ancillary system.

The rot of Nurgle is the nauseating psychological manipulation techniques galling what might have been simply glorious.

The makers of this game's antagonistic monetisation have crowned themselves emperor and your subservience to line their pockets is assumed.

"Accept your punishment for it is deserved and improves you." Is the W40K quote that leaps to mind every time I open a menu.

In order to enjoy this revolting, evil crap I pretty much have to spend as little time on the mourningstar hub area as possible and disengage myself from caring about anything outside the core gameplay which is simply a less interesting sci-fi clone of Vermintide 2.

I would be less offended if Fatshark had broken into my home and sodomised a family pet.

This game is heresy.

Intriguing. I honestly didn't have a firm grasp of what was going on even after the credits rolled, but the experience has kept me thinking.

9/10

A four player strategy game that takes ~1 hour to play with a chill atmosphere, the potential for a great deal of excitement and a fair amount of randomness. The win conditions and ways to play are varied and it's unusual to know who's going to win for sure until the final move.

Communication is only via a selection of pre-baked phrases, this is at times limiting but mostly innocuous and makes the game itself suitable for all ages since the most obnoxious anyone can be is a bit of sarcasm or spammed laughter.

Heroes have some ability customisation options and can be tweaked toward the way you want to play them.

Cosmetic options are a handful of skins and progression-based unlocks for heroes and a plethora of dice skins.

The dice skins come in free-to-open loot boxes that are guaranteed to drop daily and the skins can be upgraded through combining lower rarities into higher ones.

Like Board Games? Card Games? Dice Games? Armello is all of the above and good fun.

How the hell does a management game force you outside your comfort zone?

This game broke my brain but by the end I felt like an absolute boss.

Both meditatively relaxing and stressfully busy.

The music is stuck in my head.

Play it if the genre appeals to you, that is all.
