Sony has listened players and withdrawn their intention to force players to make and link PSN account to steam accounts. I can whole heartily once again recommend this absolutely fun game to anyone.

Forcing players suddenly to make PSN account is not acceptable. Reasons told doesn't hold water.

Sony's own website and TOS say you are NOT obligated to sign into PSN to play a Sony or Playstation game on PC, this is a UNIVERSAL TERM. You should NOT be required to sign into PSN to play Helldivers 2 because this goes against their OWN company's TOS.

I do not wan't to make any extra accounts. It's either Steam account or nothing at all
