Valheim is a fantastic hybrid of a number of my favorite games reimagined in the world of Norse Mythology. I sense elements of the darksouls franchise in the fighting and stamina mechanics and elements of minecraft, rust, and ark in the base building mechanics. While the graphics and gameplay mechanics appear fairly simple at first they feel very refined after hours of gameplay. The soundtrack adds a whimsical sense of adventure regardless of whether you're sailing the open seas on your longship or skulking through the Black Forest dodging skeletons and greydwarf attacks. Playing through the game progression and building a giant castle with a group of friends made the game even more enjoyable. All in all a fantastic game!
