The game's most pressing problems can be described in cheating tendency & developers who couldn't give af about maintaining their game as long as pawns keep bringing revenue. They will never risk making changes as long as the product works (brings money from cases), and when they do risk it, you get an even worse version of the product that is CS2. You will learn the game mechanics by hard, then get matchmade against thirteen year olds who're entitled to slay you bcs they found free undetectable software on a widely visible website.
The reason I keep playing it is to merely fill up the void that former CSGO left in me. If you're new to CS, I recommend you don't torment yourself by playing it.

Edit: don't play on Wednesdays, even comp is full on subhumans farming drops with cheats that day
